    Question Audiovox 4100 keyboard add-on?

Just wondering if anyone knows of a plug in external keyboard for the Audiovox 4100? I've been using programs that require key mapping with more buttons than what is on the phone.

In calling Audiovox directly, they gave me a flat out NO as to whether a keyboard attachment will ever be available as an accessory in the future.

If anyone has any info on this, let me know.

    Thanks!

    Response from Xrgomics

Currently, we are waiting for AT&T Wireless to make the official
announcement (which should be soon) after which it is possible to purchase directly from Xrgomics but it might not be as cost efficient as it would be list price + shipping cost.

They also suggest everyone email attwireless to push for a speedier announcement.

Got an update on the keyboards. They have been shipped to AT&T but may be delayed to the stores because of the merger. Email and call AT&T and asked them to distribute the keyboards to their stores.

Has anyone tried to use an IR keyboard yet?

Seems the ideal solution of AT&T and tengo can't get their act together.

If anyone can find out how to buy the flip keypad addon at the bottom of the attached link i'd like to know.

    http://www.anextek.com/sp230/miscellaneous.htm

I realise it's for the Anextek SP230 but the two phones are virtually identical except for their GSM bands.

Tengo shipped the product to AT&T but AT&T hasn't made it available yet.

Got an email response from Anextek saying their flip keypad is not compatable to the Audiovox PPC4100.

Not compatible? I can't believe it. The phones are exactly the same on the contacts. Surely that should mean they're compatible?

Anyway assuming I can't use this flip-pad has anyone had any luck getting the tengo one yet?

By the way, I have the keyboard and it works great. The only drawback is it adds about an inch to the length of the phone.

I am thinking about the keypad.Do you have any suggestions on a good waist carrier for it when the keypad is attached.

I haven't found a great one yet. I picket up a Niteize pack which can hold the bluetooth SD and the SD camera but it is a little bulky

Straight from the Manufacturer as a beta test.

The product is shipped so there isn't a beta test going on. You need to pressure AT&T to release the product.

I don't understand why Tengo won't sell them direct. I emailed them with no response.

I can only assume that they have signed something with AT&T to stop them doing so.

It's so frustrating that the product is there but we can't get hold of it

I know what you mean. The carriers get these small companies in a trick bag by placing a hugh order with the stipulation of no independent sales for a period of time.
