Can the PPC4100 be used on Verizon?

I've been using my unlocked PPC4100 first on ATT and then on Cingular. I now have Verizon service and have been told that it cannot be used with Verizon because they don't use GSM and their frequencies are different. Is this true? and if it is, is there any way to convert the PPC4100 so it can be used with Verizon service. I love my PPC4100 and hate to have to retire it.

The PPC4100 is a GSM phone and will only work on GSM networks such as Cingular, T-Mobile or SunCom. Verizon and Sprint use CDMA, another wireless technology.
