    MicroSDHC vs. Microsd card?

    Pda Friends,

Whats the difference between microSDHC vs. microsd card?

I want to buy the 4gb card and was wondering do they make it
    in the microsd or SDHC?

Is that the highest there is for storage? I saw that the tilt can go up to 35gb cards. Anytime soon..

SDHC is a newer format that supports much higher total capacity. If the card readers you have aren't SDHC compliant, they won't be able to read the one that you're purchasing. So that would be the driving factor - do you have an older device you want to insert it in?

There are higher SDHC cards coming - the format supports up to 32GB.

no the only device I have is the mp3 player that uses sd media which I have a few cards.

what's the capacity the sdhc cards are at? I heard 4gb, what about 8gb or higher?

There are 6GB microSDHC cards on the market now, and 8GB is available now in the UK, and next week in the US.

how come they just can't release the 35gb chip and make us waiting a year and shell out all this $$$ to pacify us?

anyone know where I can pick up the 8gb or 6gb for cheap?

They're just spinning up production runs. Personally, I'm waiting for the 32GB ones to roll out before buying another (I've a 4GB one now). Then I can cram everything onto a single card.

I probably get the 4gb for now and wait like you said. There is no need to upgrade until then IMO.

I have the samsung gravity from t-mobile. I bought a 4GB micro sd card from walmart and when I got it home it was empty. So I returned it. I got a different card and when I tried to format it my phone said error. When I got a second card I received the same message. Could this be because it SDHC and not just SD?

Just check your user manual - if it doesn't say your device supports the SDHC specs, then the largest card you can put in the phone is 2GB. Anything larger than that is SDHC.

Hi! Here is my problem. In my phone manual and in the manufacturer's website it is written that it supports 4 GB micro SD card but there is nothing about microSD HC. Shall I buy 4GB microSD HC and will it run. Please help!

Most manufacturers will only print that they support the largest capacity card they could test at the time. That way, if something goes haywire with a larger card from a dodgy manufacturer they're at least a bit covered.

    You should be fine.
