Low Tech question. How do I download this? It doesn't seem to come in the usual format that the ringers do.
Also how do I add it to the SMS file?
THanks for your help.

you will need to find a way to convert the WAV into a MP3 then you will be able to convert to a 7135 ringer.

Hey badboy-
Any chance you could share (post) your "You've got mail" MP3? The file above is a wav file and I am not certain how to convert it to MP3.
Thanks in advance!!!Krazman - "IT MAY BE THAT YOUR PURPOSE IN LIFE IS TO SERVE AS A WARNING TO OTHERS"

You want your PHONE to sound like AOL?!?
That's disgusting!
I don't have a 7135 at the moment, so I can't test it, but here's a prototype. The first note in this thread shows how to install it.

THANK YOU BADBOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What software do I need for my win98 computer to convert wav files to mp3 files.
I already know how to convert mp3 to ringers etc, and how to convert to sms etc. I have the software to do that and to make the mp3 files louder. I just need the right software to convert from wav to mp3.
Thanks again for your help and YOUR HUMOROUS POSTS REGARDING CAPS!Krazman - "IT MAY BE THAT YOUR PURPOSE IN LIFE IS TO SERVE AS A WARNING TO OTHERS"

Is my previous post invisible or something? I already converted it. All you need to do is install the prc file.

Not Invisible!
jeh-
Thanks for your effort. I didn't need the sms version. I want to use it as an alert in SnapperMail (if SM will allow me to make the change). I will probably convert it as a "wild" file.

Oh, I forgot this part -- sorry --
> What software do I need for my win98 computer to convert
> wav files to mp3 files.
An mp3 encoder. Most all CD-to-MP3 "ripping" applications include an option to convert from .wav files instead (this is no great stretch, as CD "red book" digital audio IS .wav data). I use MusicMatch Jukebox Pro as my MP3 app and it will convert wav to mp3, mp3 to wav, etc.
If you want to "work with" the ringtones you'll need a .wav editor. There are several good inexpensive ones -- Sound Forge XP (from Sonic Foundry, www.sonicfoundry.com) and Cool Edit 2000 (from Syntrillium, www.syntrillium.com) are popular favorites. With these you can trim samples, repeat portions of samples, apply EQ to optimize for the 7135's speaker (far better for making ringtones than the 6035's but still not wonderful), etc., etc. Most of these will save directly to mp3 format if you ask them to, which makes ringtone creation pretty convenient.
Most of these inexpensive .wav editors are loss leaders for a full version. I use the "full" version of Sound Forge; this costs about what a 7135 does, but I do a lot more with it than making ringtones.

For MP3 encoding, I use LAME v3.93.x, which is actually a command line interface program for Windows. So, I also use the RazorLAME front end to provide a GUI for it. Both are free and produce very good results.

WAV Conversion Request
I've tried to convert a couple goofy WAV files for my phone to use as ringers and mail/message notifications. I can't get them to result in any decent quality mp3s. If someone has a few minutes, can you please convert a few to me? Let me know, thanks so much.

Re: WAV Conversion Request
Sure. ZIP them and send them to my personal Email account. Spread and spelled out to help avoid spammers -Originally posted by EricSanDgo
