    Get a Free Proxyless PALM Browser

    Just got this from discussion.brighthand

    Get a Free Proxyless PALM Browser If you have the latest Kyocera 7135 PDA phone, you are probably aware of the EisWeb proxyless browser on that device. The manufacturer of EisWeb, Embedded Internet Solution Inc., is in the process to deliver a new consumer version of EisWeb, now called iPanelWireless. The beta version of the software is scheduled to be available on February 20, and can be FREE to you for 60 days if you sign up as a beta tester. If you send back your feedback on the software, you will receive a FREE official release product when it is ready. The browser comes with the following features:
    · Proxy-less. You will see the true, unfiltered web content;
    · Internet standard compliant: HTML 4.0, Java Script 1.4, SSL 3.0;
    · PALM 3.5 and 4.x compliant: runs on Palm m505, m515, Handspring Treo 270, 300, Kyocera 7135, Samsung i330;
    · Tri-mode page viewing: view your page in Actual mode, Screen Fitting mode and Miniature mode.
    To sign up for the test drive, visit http://www.embisoft.com/ipanel/beta_release.htm
    The beta version will only be released to a limited number of users.

    This look very good i just sign up for beta

    So why would I want to use this instead of the EIS Browser that comes with my 7135? And why would I want to start paying for it after 60 days? Just wondering.

    It's my understanding that beta testers get it free.

    I guess the real question is how is it better than the existing browser?

    Sure hope it is faster and has fewer quirks. Also hope it allows us to check our verizonwireless accounts online.

    Folks,

    If you use Avant Go -- it can open any web page. Go to the menu and try it out. Avant Go will connect, load the page and display it on the 7135.

    I've used EIS, Eudora Web, Blazer, etc -- Avant go seems to be the best over all.

    Now, only if the AvantGo browser would act like a true browser and support bookmarks, instead of just having a URL history menu. Actually, if they could do that and seperate the browser from the rest of AvantGo - that would be great!

    I signed up to be a tester about two weeks ago and sent an email requesting status. Here is the response I received:

    Thanks for your inquiry. We have received enough sign ups and the program is closed. We will notify you if we need more testers or when the product is ready for commercial shipment.

    Just got an email from the iPanel folks with their beta browser attached. Haven't had a chance to check it out yet, but am looking forward to see what it can do.
