    Preferences - Off After:

I have my PDA Prefs/General/Off After set to 30 seconds. For some reason this ONLY works properly when its in PHONE mode.

When it is on the PALM side...it just stays ON.

    Am I doing something wrong???

If you've got it in the cradle with the flip open it will stay on despite any settings you have. Pull it out of the cradle and wait 30 seconds and it should turn off backlighting.

It's very much OUT of the cradle.

    Its probably a Palm application

I noticed that certain apps stay alive even when they are not visible. The MP3 player is one that comes to mind. If you pause it rather than stop it, the palm thinks its active and stays alive. This keeps the palm side alive.

Try a soft reset, don't turn on any Palm apps and see what happens. OTOH, do you have a Launcher app that might be fooling the Palm side?

    Cheers,

    Seth
