    99 vs 199 speed dials (7135)

Did anyone else notice that the 7135 only has 99 speed dial slots? (6035 had 199). Did I mess something up during initial setup or is it actually 99.

    Thank you.

Argh! Speed Dial only goes to 99!

The new Speed Dial app in the 7135 only goes to 99 as opposed to 199 in the 6035. I used 3 digit numbers. Example: for a friend John Smith, his home number would be 57 (5=J, 7=S); for his cell number, I would prepend a 1: 157.

Now I can no longer do my clever scheme.

I agree that this is TERRIBLE. I didn't use all 200, maybe 140, but it's even more inconvenient - I grouped my #s in such a way that my main were single digit, my work was the 40s, my family was the 70's, etc. I can't understand why they did it - it's not as if it would free up a large amount of RAM or anything.

    Complain to Kyocera

I sent them an e-mail complaining. Maybe if enough people do it, they'll put the 199 limit back in a future firmware. (Well, one can always hope.)

I don't know if it's the right address for complaints or suggestions, but it's their customer support e-mail address.

    Why the limit?

What I'm upset about is the 30 Voice Dial limit. Why the limit? There's 16MB of memory on the phone... Voice Dial (and Speed Dial) storing should only be limited by the memory available! I have 20 sites I take care of that I have programmed in voice dial by the site name, and then only have room for home, wife's cell, and a few others. I use headsets all the time, and voice dialing is a prominent feature that I use while driving... just push the button on my headset and say a name! I could really use a minimum of 99 voice dial spots.

    Now I have 199 slots -- or do I?

Believe it or not, I now have 199 speed dial slots on my 7135!

I suffered a hard reset, I restored from my SD Backup card, and lo and behold I have 199 slots! I can store contacts in all 199 slots, and they all dial when I click the Dial button within the Speed Dial app.

Unfortunately, neither the standard 7135 dial app nor the TAKEphONE app recognize slots 100-199.

So close, and yet so far!

But this does raise interesting questions: Are slots 100-199 usually missing as the result of a feature, or a bug? And why did a restore expose slots 100-199?

Here's something I have never noticed. Now my speed dial list only shows names, not the speed dial number (assignments). Anyone see this one yet?

The column widths are adjustable by tap-hold and sliding... you didn't manage to "minimize" that column to barely noticeable did you?

not that I know of, but I am trying to resize the column and can't make it happen. Any way to reset it back to default? (let me guess - hard reset...)

Drew - I'm having this same problem. I notice that TAKEphONE has some major hooks into the Speed Dial feature. Are you using it? I also can't "re-size" the colums - it's like they're just GONE.

    Anybody have any ideas?
