Can a specific app be displayed every time the flip is opened?

I searched the forum for this, but didn’t find any information. I would like to be able to set which program should be displayed every time the flip is opened. Specifically, I use the program called “Today” and would like it to pop up when I open the flip. I know that there is a setting in the phone preferences that will allow you to see the phone program when the flip is opened, but I couldn’t figure out a way to specify which program should be displayed. Is there a program or hack that will give me this functionality?

    Thanks,

    Mike,
I don't think that it can, but I can say that you can set the pref so that it can be on the phone app everytime you open the flip.

When I had my Treo there was a hack that would let me set any app to launch on open of the flip... but I haven't seen or heard of any for the 7135 myself.

Try the hack called PowerButton. It launches an app when the Palm side wakes up. You need to check the box "enable Palm V up off hack"

PowerButton is good. Thanks. It doesn't launch the app everytime the flip is open, but only after the "off after" amount of time from general preferences. Good enough for me.

    Thanks.

In the prefs phone app, there is a setting that helps.

    "When Opening Flip:"

    Answer Call

    show phone display.

If show phone display is NOT checked, then the last app active on the Palm side will show (including the phone app).

If the show phone display is checked, then only the phone app will show when the flip is opened.

THere should be a specific setting for a specific applicaiton.

I also wish the phone button was a hard key, not the soft key on the grafitti area...

You can't get everything you want...

So why does it even need the "graffiti area button" for the phone then?

Because that button will toggle you back to the Palm side, right where you left things in whatever app you were in. This is very useful when talking on the phone and need to flip back and forth...

And, often if you highlight a phone number in almost any app, you can then tap on the graffiti phone and it will dial that number. Very helpful.

If 'today' is all that you are interested in, I seem to remember there being an option IN today itself to make it seem to show up every time I opened the 'flip' part of my 6035.

Now, having said that, there is still a resolution issue with the 6035 and Today that causes it to mess things up from time to time with that setting on, which caused me to not use it..
