    Monthly PRL update

Verizon recommends you update the PRL in your phone, regardless of what make and model it is provided that it is a digital one, once per month. I did my update this morning by dialing *228 and selecting option #2.

    Old PRL: 50109
    New PRL: 50112

    Anyone else get the same?
Wasn't there a site somewhere that explains what these numbers mean? If so, what URL?

AFAIK, it's just serial number and doesn't mean anything.

I don't remember there being a site explaining the numbers, but I do remember that the latest PRL will be different depending upon your firmware.

    PRL Update

Just did the update here in Beachwood, Ohio and got 50113. Maybe it's in the process of propagating across the network right now, and isn't in all towers yet?

    Waking up an old thread...

I'm on VZV and done my monthly *228 option 2 and never really checked the PRL value. I get the "activation complete" or what ever the automated voice tells me and the phone confirms this, but when I check the PRL under phone info under software, its 30143.

This seems quite outdated compared to the other PRLs in the thread. Anyone out there have similar PRL or know of the PRL not updating?

Notably, I'm one of the geeks who upgraded my software on my own as my local VZV reps had no clue and am running 44/29 currently (and the phone is very stable).
Here, have a clue. No, take two, they're small.....

My PRL is 50112. It is possible your lower PRL is related to your home location.

What plan are you on? This sounds like maybe a local digital choice or maybe National Single Rate PRL. The 500xx PRL's are America's Choice PRL's

Ah, now this makes sense. I'm on Digital Family Share Plan, not the others. After reading the thread, I thought that everyone was on the 500's.....

Thanks, Alan, for clearing this up.

Mine was 50019 and is now 50113 and is back to ERI such that my banner is overwritten with the Verizon Wireless ERI banner.

Maybe I'm missing something, or stating the obvious, and don't know it ... What version of the enhanced roaming indicator (ERI) are we acquiring?

    PRL Version: 50114
    ERI Version: 50020

I was under the impression that the system matches our electronic serial number with our billing plan and sends the correct PRL for that billing plan. Then it also matches to our known equipment and sends an ERI file that our device can properly utilize.

So what ERI versions are we picking up with the updates?

As of 25 December, my PRL is still 50119 and ERI is 50020. Go figure.
