Addicted to the brightness (and it's Dave's fault)...

Ok... for the past few months I have been running at 100% brightness... all of the time! For a long time I kept it around 33%, thinking that it was bright enough (which it was), and also so that the battery would last longer. I would also adjust it higher or lower (occasionally) depending on lighting conditions.

But then, one fateful day at a Kyo Krazies meeting (the one prior to the last one), Dave told me that he kept his brightness at 100%. A few days later I figured I wanted to give it a try. I had always been keenly aware that the higher I set my brightness the more I got used to it, which made lower settings seem less acceptable.

I knew it was a slippery slope, but I went ahead and did it anyway. Now nothing but 100% will do. Now I wish I could make it even brighter (well, except in bed with the lights off... where the screen practically blinds me). Sure, the battery life significantly shorter... but with Dan's prices on chargers why should I deprive myself? :p

Who else likes to bask in the intense wattage of 100%??

I have been using it as well... Since I got Dan's HFK, my phone is usually connected to it for short periods of time during the day. I kep the phone in the cradle most of the day, so I oviously don't see a battery hit. The lowest it's gotten down to (battery wise) is 30%.

It all started when my buddy got the i500 and showed my other friend. My other friend said the i500 was so much brighter... I said in a huffy "well mine looks that good when it's not set at 0%" I then set it too 100% and was releaved when he said mine looked as good. It's stayed that way since.

Well, perhaps I could've phrased it differently. :p I do give you credit for turning me on to the idea of 100%

I think that I'd find that a bit disconcerting, although at this point in my life I should probably be happy if I was able to turn anybody on!

I guess that would explain why you are always using your 7135 wearing just a speedo (well, that's what Steve said :p :p )

I can see rehab in your future, folks. Just say "No" to 100% brightness. The withdrawal might be ugly, but a few Brightness Analymous sessions and y'all will be good as new...

I tried 50% brightness the first week I had the phone back in January for fear of battery drain, but the following week I tried 100%, loved it, and didn't seem to notice much difference in battery drain (although I never did a real test), so I've been 100% ever since. Also makes a better flashlight that way(just one of the 1001 uses for the 7135!). Don't laugh, there have been times when I have relied on it quite extensively as a flashlight, like when the wife and 2 kids had high fevers and I had to check the kids' temps every couple of hours thru the night. I snuck in the room flipped open the 7135, popped the digital thermometer in their ear for a few seconds, read the temp with my 7135 flashlight, then charted the temps on my 7135 spreadsheet!
Also, at church when I flip open my 7135 bible (gmpsoft) to go along with the sermon, that 100% bright screen makes reading that little screen easy in the slightly dimmed environment. It really helps since I have to hold the 7135 way down on the pew seat, next to my leg, so I slightly hide it and don't distract people as they think, "why is that guy using a cellphone during church service?"

I'm in the same boat -- my wife says isn't it hard to read on that thing and I say -- no way -- plus I always have my "books' with me and can read while waiting for an appointment or her shopping or whatever!

I use mine as a flashlight almost every day/night. That is one of my most favorite features of the 7135. Seriously.

Ditto for me. How did we ever live without the 7135, warts and all?
