    Vibrate won't stop

I searched SPS for a thread regarding this, but didn't have any luck. If this has been mentioned before, I apologize and would appreciate the thread it appears in.

Using the volume button on the side, I attempted to put my phone in Vibrate mode. When I did this, the phone vibrated repeatedly. At the risk of embarassing myself, I will tell you I was in the ladies room in my office when this happened. Luckily, no one else was in there, or they might have thought that I have was entirely too much fun at work.

Has this happened to anyone else? It wasn't a big deal; it was resolved by turning the phone off, but I am rather curious.

    Thanks.

Funny story. Reminds me of the movie, "Parenthood".

A few times my old 7135 started vibrating and then wouldn't stop, but it wasn't from me adjusting the volume button, I think an incoming SMS triggered it. I don't know why it kept on vibrating, but it did.

So I just pressed the reset button in the back to do a safe/soft reset. That solved it for the time being. But it only happened about 3 times over 9+ months. No biggie.

    Best of luck.

Sounds like a "feature" that should be added to the "Interesting uses for your 7135" thread, where ever it may be....

    Vibrating Phone

    ESue67

Clean Mind, Clean Body.................................Take your pick

I LOVE your humor. Did you ever see the movie Revenge of the Nerds ?

But regarding your question, something like that happened to me also, although not in the ladies room.

It wound up that I was, coincidentally, receiving a phone call at exactly the same time that I was playing with the volume keys.

The phone was in silent mode, so it was vibrating instead of ringing.

    continous vibration regularly happens

About once a week when I attempt to switch the phone to vibrate only mode by pushing and holding the down volumn key the phone starts to vibrate continuously. Hasn't happened in the bathroom yet but usually just before I rush into a meeting several minutes late. Turning the phone off doesn't help. I generally do a soft reset to quickly solve the problem.

If anyone has a solution it would be greatly appreciated.

That has happened to me a couple times... but not enough to make me worry about it much.

Sue, please send your phone to me immediately for testing

Seriously, doesn't sound like you found an answer other than soft reset. Were you receiving a call? What firmware do you have? Do you have any hacks that might be a problem?

    Are you kidding?

I am just starting to enjoy this "feature".

I have 29/44 and no hacks (yet). I don't think that a call was coming in at the time. There was indication of a missed call.

I did that test on my phone and failed two out three, but other than this everything seems to be fine. It only happened once yesterday, and I have since set it to vibrate many times using the vol down button without any repeats of the continuous vibrating (darn!).

    Sue:

I can introduce you to a larg-ish, gasoline powered device that vibrates (but stays well within manufacturer's tolerances) and is enormous fun to ride. It moves up and down, back and forth with amazing grace and generates considerable excitment in the process.

While it may not be a 7135, it is still oodles of fun. You need to learn to shift on the fly and take a road test (to demonstrate proficiency) if you want to use it in public, but neither is terribly difficult.

If you like things that vibrate, with this one you can do it for hours!

I had my first experience with this yesterday. Didn't get too much of an amused look from my wife when I handed it too her and told her it was on of its "special" features. "Is there anything that stupid thing won't do?" she asked. "Nope"
anyway it seems that unlike everybody else that has had this problem I wasn't messing with putting it into vibrate. I just opened the phone and hit the launcher (facer 1. it half way loaded then froze. i hit either up of down I don't remember which way but then the led lit up green and it went on a vib frenzy. I looked at the exterior display and no indication of an incomming call, I didn't even have it in vibrate mode. go figure. after the reset I called the phone while the launcher was up and it rang with sound this time. the only hack I have is afterburner and x-master. I have afterburner disables 'cause I still haven't been able to recieve a call while in a o/c app so still testing my limits. so it is usually off.
    any guesses?
