down volume button / silence mode(s)

If I hold down the dwn volume button, it vibrates twice and goes into silent mode. If I hold it down again it vibrates once. Hold it down again and it vibrates twice again.

Is there a change in different silent modes, or is that wishful thinking?

Didn't find anything in the manual.

    Any ideas ?

If you look at the screen while you are doing this what do you see? From what I remember, you can still turn down the ringer volume while the 7135 is in silent mode. Each time you push the down volume button (without holding it down) you are probably taking the ringer volume down a notch for when you eventually take it off of silent mode.

p.s. I could be remembering incorrectly. Do this while looking at the phone screen and you should see for yourself.

People also seem to have different "vibes" when putting it into silent mode. Some have one, some have two and some have both! I know I have both situations when going into silent mode.

    Ditto Ditto here

I do notice that I get differnt vibes for different incomming sounds... It vibes for a long duration when a call comes in and it vibes for a short duration when I get a text message, and I think it vibes differnently when I get a "pager" message or when a Datebook alert is due... I'll keep my eye on it and confirm this theory. I'll let you know what i hear...or rather what i feel.

The 7135 does in fact "vibe" differently for diffeent alerts. Pages, Text messages, and the like usually have a short bep (although that can be configured under incoming messages from the message application). Calls have a long duration vibe similar to a ringing pattern of a phone.

And yes, I too have noticed that silent mode does either short or two short beeps when activated. Curious...

I just want to report back on my post above, I knew I wasnt crazy - there is a difference in the vibes, both pages & text messages vibe a single short vibe, however a "datebook" alert is three shorter vibes in a row. I never really cared how many vibes occured as I look at it everytime anyways, but now i have a good "feel" of whats going on. lol

Also, I always get two vibes when activating silent mode, unlesss its already in silent mode and then it only vibes once.

Does anybody else have anything to say about what's shaken?

The different vibes for different alerts...yes, I think we all have that.

It has been reported in the past that simply going into silent mode can produce a single or a double vibe. I find that it seems to depend on how long I hold the button, but that it is not consistent. Either way, I am only going into silent mode.
