Buy the 7135 or wait for update? HELP!

I'm looking at FINALLY updating my i330 to a 7135.....but since it's been around awhile I wondered if I should wait for a new release.

I'm hearing it'll be 18 months before a new release of the 7135. Will it really be 2006 before a new release comes out? I can't wait THAT long!

    Thanks for any input.

And, while we're at it - is there any way to upgrade the current version to version 5.0 of Palm?

If you decide to go with the 7135, you can do some things to help accelerate the speed (if the speed of the slower 4.1 processor is your major concern).

Many here in this group find that Fast CPU works well, just remember that not all programs like being accelerated, you will have to see how this will affect your individual use.

On time. . .If the 7135 release was any indication of how slow the next generation can be getting to market, I would say, you might have a bit of a wait. . .As excited as I am about the (8000 series?) I am not holding my breath, just my 7135.

    I don't need a faster 4.0 cpu, i want 5.0!

the speed of my 7135 isn't the problem, its that I want to run the latest and greatest on my phone, and of course that means a 5.0 OS. Ah, well. Like you, I love my 7135. I haven't found many GREAT applications that are third party - just Snapper mail. What are you using?

Anyway here's a list of some of the programs I am running. Check the previous postings on what others are using as well. I think you will find a host of 3rd party apps you may have overlooked.

    Backup Buddy
    FileZ
    Fast CPU
    Pocket Radio
    Print Boy
    Silver
    Splash ID
    Street Finder

I bought silver, but I've only been disappointed

I wanted to get that cool background they are always showing their ads - you know that hot desktop - but I can't figure out how to get it. Am I missing something?

Not sure which theme (background) you are looking for, but there are several you can download right from the pocket sensei site. I actually like this software. Has anyone upgraded to the new version yet?

Also taking a look at the Themester trial. . .this software lets you create you own theme using gif files. . .

    Cheers,

    pocket sensei

I (now) read on the pocket sensei site that you can only get a backgound .jpg if you have OS 5. So what themes are you digging with your K 7135?

I have tried all of them. . .but I seem to end up settling on Bebopper. . .

I have downloaded the Themster trial so I may have more to say on that soon.
