Could not find a palm desktop data file.

I recently upgraded a users workstation. The user was/is running windows 2000 pro on both machines. After installing palm desktop, Intellisync, documents to go, and Versamail I get the following message while the memo pad syncs.

Could not find a palm desktop data file. After closing this message
box you will need to open the palm desktop application and then
close it again before re-running the synchronization.

I tried a repair on the palm desktop install and that did not correct the problem. What would happen if I un-installed palm desktop, and re-installed it without uninstalling the other apps?

    Any suggestions?

    desktop data file

I never found a clear answer for this problem. It seems that when palm desktop was installed previously it was installed to c:/palm. When I installed it on the 2nd machine it installed to c:/program files/palm. I guess that is what I get for trusting the defaults and not reading. I just disabled the sync of notepad since the user doesn't use it. It seemed easier that un-installing and re-installing.

    Good Luck with it.
