Digital card of multimedia card for Kyocera 7135 smartphone

    Hello,
I want to purchase a secure digital card or a multimedia card for my Kyocera 7135 so that I can record MP3s. Can you please tell me:

What is the difference between a secure digital card and a multimedia card?

The largest card I can find is a 1GB SANDISK SECURE DIGITAL SD CARD. Is that compatible with a Kyocera 7135 smartphone? I have read that this is an excellent storage device. Comments?

What other brands beside SanDisk might I consider?

    Thanks!

First, Purchase Bebopper MP3 player for the 7135 at www.belltools.com

The stock MP3 player is horrible!

Next get the biggest SD card that your wallet can handle.

    Good brands are:
    Scandisk
    Kingston
    Simple Tech
(There are others, but I have only used the ones listed.)

Purchase a SD card reader. Loading MP3's with the included Kyocera software takes FOREVER! A SD card reader is MUCH faster and well worth $20. Load ALL MP3's into the AUDIO folder. Create it on the root of the card if it is not present.

When creating MP3's the max. bitrate is 128. Anything higher you will have skipping issues.

BTW - I would also purchase a SD backup program for your 7135. www.Bluenomad.com makes BackupbuddyVFS. It will save your data one day....(save about 16megs on the card for the backup.

    Enjoy!

Thank you so much for your help. I appreciate it very much.

I am trying to determine whether the 100 GB SD Sandisk shown at http://www.rasputinj.com/article3190.html is compatible with the Kyocera 7135 smartphone. On the Kyocera site the largest storage size they show is 512 MB http://store.kyocera-wireless.com/pr...ARMGRMEWPP4AD6

    Thanks!

100GB SD! Boy I want one of those! Actually you mean 1 GB. Yes they work. I have a 512 Lexar and I've not had any problems with it. To reiterate TL's post, yes get a backup! Best thing I ever got for my PDAphone. Also there have been posts that indicate the higher speed cards work better for playing higher bit rate MP3's

I have Sandisk 1.0G and it works just great. Had 512MB and 256MB Lexar before that, no problem either. Get the largest possible for MP3s.
