    Hard reset when swapping battery?

New user here...bought phone on EBay 2 weeks ago and absolutely love the flexibility and all the games and apps I've been able to add. Overall stability has been OK except the phone does a hard reset everytime I swap batteries. Is it something I'm doing wrong or is there an internal power source that is no longer working in my used phone?

Be sure your phone is off. If phone is on, a battery swap will result in a hard reset.

Thanks CaptJCL. Turning off phone before swap results in a soft reset only.

This is not true...I swap my battery with the phone on all the time. I get a soft rest, but never a hard reset. I suspect the internal backup battery is dead. I would charge the phone until the battery is full and then leave it charging for a few extra hours.

Yes though batteries swap should result in only a soft reset some conditions will cause a hard reset, IE boucing the battery off the contacts (if you slip) or a malfunctioning internal backup battery. So its best to always power off before you swap batteries.

i would wager more so on the internal "battery" not holding a charge or its not fully charged.

thats the whole problem, that back up battery is either faukty or not charged, charging. Easiest way to fix this get an SD card and backup buddy VFS. Sync before u swap, resync when u are done, nice and easy
