    car mounts

anyone have any updated suggestions regarding car mounts. a search shows lots of activity a few years ago, but nothing very recent. was wondering if the profit vsm would work with the pro-clip 7135 mount, or is there a better way.

most of the older posts say the side clamp models don't fit right, that you need to shoehorn them in

Well I ended up making one using some plastic I got from Tap Plastics... it holds the hands free plug in place so that when I put the phone in my makeshift cradle it also plugs into the hands free unit... I have to post some pics one of these days..

I'd like to see that! I was considering cutting up an old cradle and trying to determine which connector was for power, speaker, mike, etc.

Pro Clip is the way to go

I've used the proclip through 2 company cars, and their holder is great.

You buy a base that is designed for your car, and the specific location that you would like, and then you buy a clip specific to your phone.

They make two clip versions for the 7135, a rigid, which has a slight bend to the driver, and a swivel version that has alot of adjustment.

I've used both, and each works. The swivel version can work loose from time to time, but for certain cars, this might be your best option.
