My 7135 has 11000 minutes! (7135 Durability Question)

I recently bought a used 7135 on ebay that activated and everything... Just today though, I noticed that the phone had 11,000+ minutes on its call timer!!!!

I'm just wondering if anyone knows about the durability of the 7135....is it unusual for the phone to still be working after so many minutes? Should I expect the phone to die very soon?

The phone seems to have normal to very little cosmetic wear and the OS has worked fine so far. It is just the sheer amount of usage that scares me about the future....

Can anyone beat 11,000+ minutes? Perhaps this is not unusual?

2204 calls, 3519 min, 29 sec. with this replacement 7135 that I have had for about 3 or 4 months. I had original 7135 purchased from Get Connected for nearly 2 years at this same usage rate, that what's that ... about 20,000 minutes on that phone before it died of SRCP.

BTW, I bought an extra "brand new" 7135 last week from one of Kyocera's outlets (CellStar) and I am very happy to have that as a backup now. I am planning on many more years of 7135 use, unless something comes out that knocks my socks off. But I don't even hear of anything on the horizon, so I will run with the 7135 for a good long time.

for some reason seeing how many calls made on your phones in the last 2 years is disturbing... 10286 calls in 2 years... thats 14.090410958904109589041095890411 calls a day.all totaling to 21447 min. that makes each call around 2.0850670814699591678008944195995 min.

hehe you should go to the doc and get a cat scan..... i bet you got a 7135 outline on the side of your head

I would bet the majority of my calls are data for email access. Also, many of my calls represent dropped calls that had to be redialed. I live in cell hell.

As for the minutes, yes, too many... the brain was fried probably before this phone. My first phone was a 3-watt bag phone bought in 1993. Have used one ever since.

Gee thanks for the concern Iron-man. Actually, I keep my 7135 duct-taped to my noggin! My earbuds are permantly glued into my ears.
In real life though my 7135 is my mobile office, it spends very little time next to my head. I'm usually using a headset or when I'm in the car between clients it goes straight in the cradle when I'm on the phone doin' bid-ness! 1500 min/mo plan helps.

Two years old and 3,361 calls, 15,119 min, 55 seconds. Other than losing one screw on the back (replaced with one I shortened from an old 6035) a a crack on the left hinge bracket from falling alseep reading a few too many times this phone has been perfect.

My boss just got a 7135 (possibly refurbished) from VZW about 2 months ago to replace a dead 6035 and it's already died of SRCP disease. He got his Treo600 Friday.

Talking Happy to say mine is fairly low ...

I saw this thread and I decided to check my used 7135.

Glad to see it was only 3618 calls for 9,158 minutes.

I only hope mine makes it to the 50,000+ minute mark.

    Love this cell !!!

    and still going . . .

10 months old, 3,426 calls, 27,619 minutes -- yes, most of it was off-peak data. The one saving grace about having a four-month-old who won't sleep through the night consistently is that you can surf a lot in the dark on a 7135.

    6133 calls, 15437 min., 20 secs.

A lot of that time using EN on nights and weekends.

Still my original phone although I've had the screen and speaker replaced and 3 metal covers, not to mention a bad stint with junk carbon fiber trim from ebay.
