    Missed Call/Voicemail/Email/Alarm repeat notification utility

Attached is a work in progress app for missed call/voicemail /email notification. Copy the cab to your phone and run it to install. After installing the soft reset your phone.

    Features:
After receiving a call, email or voice mail the following will occur.

    1. If the flip is opened, nothing. It will be assumed that you have received the notification.

    2. If the flip is closed. Every 60 seconds one of the following will occur until the flip is opened.
    a. If the phone is not in meeting mode, it will play a sound and flash the lcd on for 3 secs.

    b. If the phone is in meeting mode,it will vibrate and then flash the lcd on for 3 secs.

The sound played can be changed by changing the wav file smmsgnotify.wav that is installed to the windows directory.
All other options are currently hard coded. As the app is developed I plan to make all of these changeable. This is a test release, if you use it please monitor this thread for updates. Suggestions are always welcome.

    Update:
Added repeat sound after an alarm goes off.

This will be a free app, but since I get a lot of request, here is my paypal link. It is not necessary, but, you can if you would like and thanks if you do. Donations

superdave, would this work for the Qtek 8500/Cingular 3125? It is a similar WM5 Smartphone flip-type phone. Just a thought...

    John,

I monitor an OEM State called "folder" to determine if the flip is open/closed. We would need to find an equivalent state.

The state im using is at HKLM\System\State\OEM\Folder, its 0 for closed 1 for open.

MODERATOR: can you sticky this thread?

How do I soft-reset the phone?

While we are at it - how do I hard-reset it?

    Thanks!

Are you wanting to use this for Alarm repeats? I have not looked into that yet. It may be easy to implement though.

You can soft reset by pulling the battery.

    Thank you SD

I look forward to the configurable version. One minute is a bit aggressive for me, but the reminder is DEFINITELY not easy to ignore. Thanks!

    It doesn't always work

Power off the phone. Call your phone and leave a message. In about 1 minute power on the phone - there is only one notification, just the way it was before installing this application.

Also doesn't work for text messages at all

Dave - can you fix it?

What a great app!!! Everything works fine except repeat alarms, even after you updated it. Now if it worked with text msg.... that would be fantastic. Nice job Dave.

Yeah, guess I missed the text messages. I can add that pretty easy. When you say power off the phone you mean completely power off? If so that makes sense, the current version does not read the states when loading so it doesn't know whats going on unless it happens while its running That and the text messages will be added in the next release. Should have something next week.

Yes, this is exactly what I mean. Also consider the case when I didn't power it off but was outside the reception area (in the subway) when the message was left.

Ahhhhhh...... you enabled alarms, like the one you set in the clock setup. I was thinking of calender reminder alarms.... any chance those could be set to repeat? Peace.

Awesome! For me the only thing I tend to miss are TXT msgs, so having it repeat the notificatin of a new txt would be great. Looking forward to the next release! I'll wait to download/install till then.

Guess I cant edit the first post after a while, so if a mod could move this.

App has been updated and attached to this thread.

    Changes are:
    1. States are now checked when app first starts. This should help with some rouge uncaught alerts.

    2. Added monitoring of SMS/MMS messages.

    3. A registry value is now set for the alert time. The key is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\SDSoft\SDSmartphone\AlertTimeMS. Changing this millisecond value will increase/decrease the alert time cycle.
