Cool How to change battery. Where to purchase replacement.

What is the procedure for changing the battery without resetting the 6601? I turned it off, then removed the battery to get the ESN number, and it reset the device to factory! Is there a way to do this without loosing the settings?

Also where can a spare battery be purchased?

Once the backup battery is charged, you can replace the battery without it doing a reset. Check >Start>Settings>Power to see if the backup battery is charged. If so, I think you have about 20-30 minutes to change batteries and not lose anything.

I don't believe anyone has spare batteries for sale yet... we will here in our site store once they are available. Hopefully an extended version will be forthcoming.

    Comparable batteries?

I was wondering whether the i-Mate XDA-III batteries are viable options for additional batteries. Anyone have experience?

    Batteries and chargers for 6601

We are having a heck of a time finding batteries and chargers for 6601's in a quick turnaround (e.g., delivery next week). Does anyone know of sources where we can get compatible batteries and chargers quickly?

    Thanks!

I would agree with you if you were right, but the Palm OS is crap.

    Question Spare battery

Expansys lists a replacement battery for the pda2k. Should I feel confident that it will work in my 6601?

Bought mine from Verizon. They shipped it one day after my 6600. It is the same capacity as ships with the device.

Sorry; I don't have a link. I just told my rep I wanted them and they showed up two days later in VZW packaging. She's a great rep.

These things are in the warehouse, but the rest of VZW hasn't caught up. The 6600 "extras" CD tries to link to the manual on the website, but the page isn't there yet. Why they don't just put the manual PDF on the CD I'll never know.

2000 mah battery available in Jan

Some one (a vender) posted in the PDA2K forum that a 2000mah battery will be available in Jan.

    Taking preorders now.

Here is a link to the battery.

Just saw this on another site. I think it may be what everyone has been looking for.

Someone post as soon as you get one. That looks like about a 1/3 increase over the existing battery.

I'll probably just end up getting an extra regular battery. The 2000 mah battery will probably add way too much thickness. I only used it when I absolutely had to with the i700.

I was just passing the info in case others were interested.

I tend to agree, I'm satified with the stock battery and I really don't want to add weight.

But I know some others are much heavier users and willing to add the weight for it.

I do want a spare and might try this one. Not sure yet.

IF and I do mean IF lion battery makes this the way they made one for the toshiba 805 it will be SLIM! The 805's extended battery was about the thickness of a PENNEY and gave great battery life. I'm sure it will be just like it because the design of the two are similar. I have asked lion battery if I can do another review for them and I' hoping they will say yes!.

Can you tell me what it is so I can do a search at the forums? For some reason I can't access the page. Or if you can provide another link that might be helpful as well.
