XV6600 as EVDO Modem for Laptop?

Got my 6600 and love it. Has anyone figured out how to attach this via USB or Bluetooth to a notebook computer to use it as a wireless modem? Did this with my I 700 and hope to be able to do it here.

What kinda of cable or cradle comes with it? I use my i700 was a modem nearly every day with my laptop.

What's a good source for accessories for the VX6600?

Is the BoxWave a Charge/Sync/Modem cable? How do they list on their site? Harrier? PPC6600? VX6600? I want to order one as soon I get confirmation of my order.

'course I'll need to get a BlueTooth ear piece, bluetooth gps, and bluetooth dog polisher as well.

    I got it working!

I got the xv6600 working as a wireless ev-do modem for my notebook pc. No additional software needed. Just set up a dial up networking bluetooth connection from my pc. When it gets to the password page, put in yourphonenumber@vzw3g.com as user and vzw as password. Put in #777 as phone number and surf away.

I think I remember reading a thread that said speeds will be limited by the transfer speed that BT can do. I.e., you won't be able to do the same speed via BT that you can do by cable/cradle connection.

I have a $45 per month data plan for unlimited evdo. Has anyone gotten this to work as a modem through usb? works with bluetooth, but speed is limited to about 200K.

The wmodem file should be on the cd that came with the unit. Anyone else had success with bluetooth dun. I have the Sprint version and it does not work there, although usb cable/modem works fine.

When you ran wmodem and booted the PC (or connected it to PC AFTER starting wmodem) did it recognize the "USB Modem" as a Plug-n-Play device on it's own or did you some how force install it on the PC.

Did you follow the link to directions listed above.

    Did you shut of ActiveSync.

Do you have a USB Modem driver (just an INF file if I recall) for the PC side (this is what was on the Sprint CD, wmodem was in ROM and installed on Hard reset).

Is the Wmodem you have for XDA-III/PPC-6601 or from a XDA-II/I-mate (it might not be the same).

I can email the one off my PPC-6601 and the INF file if you want to try it.

It is normal for it to shutdown the phone. Wmodem makes the phone a dedicated USB modem and NOTHING else while emulated.
