Modem in 6601 reports as US Robotics Sporter

I was fooling around with the phone and connected hyperterminal to the bluetooth modem to see what it looked like.

If I typed ATDT#777 it would connect.
If I typed ATI7 I get what is listed below.

This is the exact same report you get on a US Robotics Sporter modem.

My only guess is, this was a popular modem and it "fakes" looking like that popular modem.

    Strange

    Output of ATI7 command

    Pass dialing string

    mswlogo

I have been trying to get my 6601 to dial from MS Outlook on my Laptop. I point the Windows Phone Dialer (can be accessed from Start/Run/"dialer") to the Bluetooth modem.

It sounds like you are able to access the phone side from your computer.

Do you think the correct combination of AT commands could pass a phone number to the phone and have it dial the number? Possibly placed in the initialization string?

I was told +ATDT0800000000 is what I should use. I am still learning about AT commands though.

MSWLOGO, have you tried to send or receive a fax yet with the phone connected by BT or USB? I would be very interested in the ability to send and receive faxes to and from my pc using this as a modem. I have Win XP pro and use the built in fax program.
    Thanks Dan

I was told by one of the moderators there is no analog modem capability in this phone. I think there is a sprint service you can pay per fax for them to channel it through them.

Phone does not need analog ability to fax. I can fax with my old Motorola Timeport with it locked on Sprint.
