Which Voice Recognition are you using?

I'm using (as many others are) Microsoft Voice Commnd which works great. Read the online help tips if this is what you have.

MS Voice Command is the only way to go. If you use Phonix you should buy a gun and shoot your phone. It will never work correctly.

MS Voice command works properly with 2003 SE? I thought it did not.

    Thanks,

MS voice comm works flawlessly on the 6601, love it, well worth the cash. Any limitations on voice dialing are the fault of Audiovox, Im not really sure why they did not include a voice dialer.

    XV-6600 voice

Just got my XV-6600 last weekend - best phone I have ever used. One problem I have encountered is the Microsoft Voice Command software I purchased seems to bomb on this box. Has anyone been able to get it to run sucessfully yet or installed another solution that works well. I am amazed that his device was missing a voice command product. Recently purchased an i700 that came with Voice Signal that seemed to work well. Didn't like the i700 though and sent it back - what a slow device.

Make sure the gain control under Microphone is turned off. Works well on mine except for noisey areas.

I always feel I am screaming at mine to make it work. It usually recognizes the first part, but then I have to say "yes" or "no", and it has a hard time with that... and yes, gain control is turned off.
I have read on other boards that we can expect MS Voice Command 1.5 soon, and it has tweaks for some of the lastest platforms, (ie, PDA2k, XDAIII, XV66xx)

Go to VC options and turn off "confimration for yor commands. That will negate any requirement for a response. I simply say "correct" having read that longer responses are easier for the engine to interpret.

Ah, Thanks Bob, I will give that a shot! I am really hoping that 1.5 will be a free upgrade for us.. supposedly there are new features that are nice as well too...

thx for the reply. I had turned off the AGC but not the confirmation. When I loaded MS Voice Command I noticed my "Buttons" and "Microphone" icons are no longer visible. After multiple attempts to use VC I decided to remove it and reload. I can get to answer the a response to "Help" and follow-up questions down the help tree but that is about it. I have 6,400 contacts loaded so am wondering if that taxes VC too much. Any thoughts - thx

Make sure you wait long enough to say Yes or Correct.

Timing is the trick. The better you time it, the better it works.

Yeah, I agree. I had a terrible time getting used to pausing to say "Correct" with mine. Also, speak in a normal volume, The syn chick doesn't like to have your voice raised at her.

Great product. I yelled at my T600 today forgetting that it was an order of magnitude older than the PPC-6601 which I sent back to SPCS.

    ??? A question...

    From sleep mode, can I:

    1) hit the power button to wake up device
    2) hit a side button (mapped to Voice Command)
    3) Use a BT headset and say, "Call Betty on cell phone"
    4) have the phone dial.

All without taking it out of the case.

How is it that your phone automatically reconnects your BT headset out of sleep mode? Mine just acts dumb and doesnt recognize the damn thing. Also how are you able to give commands from your BT headset? i thought Voice Commander couldnt take commands from BT headsets.

I can' speak for the BT headset, but this was exactly my process useing a WIRED headset. IF wakeup issues can be solved with BT headset, this should work.
