    Wireless Sync on 6600

Appears that the wireless sync comes installed on the 6600 from Verizon. I do not think I need it. Is there a way to uninstall it or not start it?

Would deleting the "syncClient" shrotcut from the windows/startup be the best way to keep it from running on boot?

    thanks

    Mike

    Edited:

I beleive the Sync Client can be uninstalled under remove programs, but if I ever want it back, where do you download it to install?

    thanks

You can either remove it from the \Windows\Startup (copy it to a different location or delete it) or uninstall it from the 'Remove Programs'.

If you do a hard reset (will lose all of your data), it will automatically reinstall it (I tested this).

It may also be on the CD (to keep you from having to do a hard reset), but I have not checked.

Does anyone know how much Main Memory is gained by uninstalling Wireless Sync?

I know if varies somewhat depending on uses but there are probably some contants.

(I've had it with WS trashing my company emails and calendar entries.)

    1. You can disable wireless sync simply by configuring it never to connect.
    2. You can remove wireless synch through settings->system->remove programs.

If you want it back, the installation cab is on the extended rom. If you like, you can unhide the extended rom and install the cab. (Or someone here can post it for you if you don'twant to do that.)

Thanks, E. That information was known though.

The question was how much memory would be saved by uninstalling. Someone might have already found out that information.
