What are the top bluetooth headsets?

I got assigned a fun little project by my boss. He wants me to purchase the top bluetooth headsets on the market and test them with the PPC and Treo 650.

    Making the list so far:
    HBH-660
    HS850
    Logitech Mobile Freedom BT Headset
    M2500

Failed for one reason or another:
    Anything Jabra
    Sornix stuff

So put in your wishlist! I will test as many as I can on both devices and post a review on each one.

Also, Is there a good site to by all these from? I searched CDW and Newegg and they don't have all of them. It would be great I could buy them all from one site.

HBH-660 gets my vote. It's been trouble free for me so far. I got it at mobilecityonline.com for $99. -Jay

Mobilecity had 3 of them so I purchased the HBH-660, HS850, and M2500. I will get the others later. I am also going to preorder the BT800. I know I said no Jabra but they do say it has improved audio. Might as well test it.

You have to add the Bluespoon AX pronto to that list. While you at it add the bluespoon 5g.

What are your criteria to test them? How will you compare?

    Ease of Use
    Confort
    Audio Quality
    Features
    Battery life

One other employee and myself will test them out on PPC 6601 and a Treo 650. We will then mark our results and compare.

Anything from Sony seems to work well.

HBH-300, HBH-660, HBH-35 all have pretty good reports.

Some folks have issues with ear fit with the HBH-300.

Moto HS810 and HS850 have a cool folding boom mic with which you easily turn off blutooth and turn it on. The sound is quite clear, though a little low, but I've never heard complaints from my callers about sound quality or feedback echoing as I did while using Cardo Scala 500

I believe that there should also be some consideration given to range when evaluating these headsets. The HBH 660 gets my vote in this area as well as in the audio quality category.

Also, my personal opinion is that any headset that has a flashing blue light gets a deduction of style points. More or less of a deduction based on the size and brightness of the beacon.

    lol...Smoothie.

I put an HBH-660 in there, I won't try the others since this one is the top of the line in that range.

The HS850 is already in there too.

Good point on rang though. I will add that to the list. Thanks.

Just got the AX in today and it sounds good. Much better than the Jabra. I will use it for a few days and let you guys know how it compares with the others as I get them in. So far it is better than the jabra 250.

Thought I'd put in my 2 cents here. The Plantronics 2500 didn't fare well with my 6600. I like the look and feel of it, but it was full of static, especially around my WiFi. ALso people said they couldn't hear me that well. Seems there is nothing than can compete with my Plantronics wired earphone with longer book mic.

How is your testing going, NoodleNT, and which set have you decided on? Or are you still testing?

The Plantronics M2500 is still in testing. The first one we got was broken. So far the HBH-660 and the HS850 have been the best. Although still not perfect.

I have an excel file with the reviews and scoring. If you want I would be happy to email it to you, unless there is a way to post it here?

We are still testing the Treo 650 with the headsets. It took FOREVER to get one!

I've had really good luck with my Plantronics M3000. They're available on closeout right now from eCost for about $30.

Wait...just realized the time frame of this thread...

    Noodle, how's the testing faired?

    I just posted. :p

Oh... the nice thing with the HS850 is the flip boom mic that turns off the device. That is much nicer than having to hold a button for 5+ seconds.

For some reason I just got notified of this thread.

NoodleNT - I would love to see the details of your findings on headsets.

I just broke mine and need to get another. Was never really happy with the one I had.
