    Contacts to Car Phonebook

Has anyone successfully upload even a single contact to any car bluetooth phone system? I have gotten contacts to tranfer to my Prius but the name in the Prius directory stays greyed out as if the number did not transfer but the name did, and I cannot select the name.

Just wordering if the contacts transfer works with ANY car and PPC 6601. I have applied the C patch.

I'll let you know as soon as Sprint releases the PPC6600.

I have a 2005 Lexus RX330 with the bluetooth system.

I have been checking both the phone and Lexus websites to see if anyone has tried the system with these phones.

This model is not listed on Lexus' website as one that will work with the cars, but it is nortoriously slow at being updated.

I posted a similar question. I am having the same exact problem with my Siemens SX66 PPC Phone. (XDA III).

I was finally able to transfer contacts, one at a time to the Prius, using an iPAQ and a Sprint 325 phone. Same process worked with the PPC6600.

    ppc-6600 sprint audiovox 6600

i have been looking for quite a while for a way to get the sprint and audiovox ppc-6600 to bluetooth phone numbers into the 2005 lexus phone book.

i think i have figured out a way to get the numbers to transfer.

    l@@k.....
the lexus will accept the transfer IF the phone number for your contact person is entered in the "radio tel:" location.

apparently the systems can communicate with each other only if certain conditions are met.
the only number that will transfer has to be entered into the "radio tel:" number for the contact, AND, the number can NOT contain any parenthesis " ( ) " or other characters except a "dash".

outlook defaults a 10 digit phone number like this: enter 123-4546-7890, and outlook returns (123) 456-7890 for itself. this will not transfer to the lexus phone book.

you can enter a 7 number phone number in "radio tel" and transfer the name and number to the lexus easily.

i have had "SOME" luck with removing the area code and country/region from outlook. this should keep the ( )'s from showing up.
    do this:

    highlight a contact
    tools
    options
clear the boxes for area code and country

the key appears to be that you have to enter a phone number into the "radio tel" location for the contact, and the number can NOT contain ( )'s.

    hope this helps.

i got onto this after chatting with randy, my local dealer's diagnostic specialist. we couldnt get numbers to transfer from my ppc-6600 so i went home and hacked it out after about 2 hours.

next, we need to figure out how to make the BT show signal strength bars, and to transfer more than one entry at a time.

    maniaclexus hit the spot.
I am using a SX66 on Cingular and after reading his 05-06-2005 post I was able to transfer 1 contact at a time. My previous record was zero.
I look forward to the next brainstorm to get over 'braindead BT" on the SX66.
