    Smile Verizon xv6600woc

Used the forum to learn about USB modem and it worked!! Thanks to all, especially myehud who put everything in one place.

After connecting, speeds are better than with my Motorola phone.

Also want to let everyone know that Audiovox tech support told me this morning that the problems with ringer volume are related to software, new release within about a week. Users will need to take the phone/PDA to a Verizon store and have software installed.

Thanks again for a good forum!

Make sure you do every step in the correct sequence, and it should work.

I have a question for you guys since you use verizon....

I recently emailed a verizon representative in order to see if i can share the internet access with my laptop while im on the road, this is my response:
We do not support tethering the 6600 to a laptop. We do however support
using Bluetooth on the 6600/PC to get to the internet. To be able to do
this, you would need to go with the $79.99/mo plan. If you want to
utilize wireless sync you would also add the $5.00 wireless sync feature.

Is there any way around this, i mean i read other threads about using a bluetooth or usb connection and running a 3rd party application to do this. My question is, is it possible to do this and only pay $45 a month. Also if you do it the non-verizon recomended method, does it use up your airtime minutes?

    Thanks in advance

    Can you do it? Yes.
Does it eat up minutes? No.

It works fine. The rule of thumb for pocket pc phones appears to be "If you want the answer to your question don't call your carrier."
