    Powered Car Mounts?

From searching different forums and phone websites, the only powered car mounts I have found are ones from Seidio and Arkon.

My car already has a NAV system and built-in BT, so I don't need all the different hookups. The Seidio products look good because you just need to set the phone down into the cradle and you don't need to plug in a power cord.

Since I am still waiting for Sprint to release the 6600, I don't have a phone in my hands yet. But apparently there is no audio output throught the serial connection at the bottom of the phone so in order to pipe mp3s through an FM modulator, I would have to plug into the headset port on the top of the phone. Is this information correct?

Has anyone had experiences with either of these two products or know of any additional powered mounts that might be available?

    Thanks,

I currently use a ProClip belt holster for my Treo 600 and am awaiting their belt clip release for the PPC 660x. They are really great products!

But I'm trying to find mounts that you don't have to attach any cables to the phone when you put it in.

The Seidio models are the only ones I've see like that so far.

I'm hoping someone else know of some other brands.

Can the Cig charger be unplugged from the proclips that come with the cig charge cable?

    Example:

    Thanks for the link.

I missed that when I was surfing the ProClip site.

That could be a player. It would be nice if you could substitute a straight cord to be spliced into the wiring harness.

I'll contact them and see if that could be an option.

    That option is available.

Of course that information was only right in front of my face posted on their website.

Anybody else know of any other brands?

I have an Arkon Powered PDA mount and like the fact that I can switch PDAs and still get power (I can switch out USB power cables) and I can also move the suction cup mount between vehicles. It has held up well in my Jeep Wrangler.
