User Review Of Mugen POWER Battery

I'm sure you have read some reviews already on the extended battery from www.lionbattery.com but here's one more.

First of all I will be honest and say that I'm a huge fan and supporter of the Mugen batteries. Every since I purchased my first Toshiba E805 I had to have one of these! Please excuse my review since it was written in the pda and the format came out terrible.

Okay, before we get to the battery life tests, I must say a few things about
    it's
form factor and appearance. Typically, extended batteries will provide
longer talk time with the trade off that you will have to carry around
    a
larger, heavier unit. This factor is practically negligible with this
battery. The fit is perfect, and it weighs only a half an ounce more.
Obviously the battery is slightly larger than the standard, but in
    practical
usage, this is not noticeable at all. Rather than gently sloping
    thinner,
it lies flush with the upper portion of the phone. All in all, the
    battery
    looks great.

The battery impresses in more than just the looks department as well.
    Usage
    time is significantly increased.

    Battery Tests:

Home screen, Backlight on Highest Setting - 9 Hours.
Continuous Mp3 playing, Screen on, no backlight - 14 hours.

Talk time and standby time are also significantly increased. I'd
    estimate
typical usage would yield about five and a half hours of talk time, and
eight to nine days of standby.

Considering the device does double duty, filling the shoes of both a
    phone
and a PDA, the importance of long battery life can not be understated.
    The
standard battery was merely sufficient, whereas this battery actually
    gives
you the option to leave your charger at home over longer trips. If you
consider yourself a power user, I would not hesitate to pick this
    battery
up. $70-80 (check their website for current price) may sound like a lot to pay for a battery, but this is not
significantly more expensive than a standard OEM battery. If youre
    already
satisfied with your xv6600's battery life, then you probably wouldnt be
reading this. But if you're in the market for a spare or replacement,
    you
certainly should take a look at picking up an extended battery manufactured by Mugen POWER!

Thanks for reading and I hope this will help some who may have been thinking if it would be worth upgrading to a bigger battery. I will say again GO FOR IT!

Once they release the re-design we will be able to evaluate this battery again for the Verizon 6600. As we all know (see thread's) the 2200 mugen does not work with this unit.

Where is the comparison? What times were you getting with the standard battery?

Also, if talk time is 5.5 hours, how would you compare that? 20%, 50%, 100% more life?

    Please provide baselines if possible!

Until further notice, this battery is not for use with the Sprint PPC-6601 or Audiovox XV6600 PPC/Phones. Li-ION
So that didn't scare you away?

Yeah, what's up with the warning that it's not for use with XV6600's? I've been using one on mine with no issues.

Haven't any of you seen this?
Extended 2200 Battery - Possible Problem

If you're not having any problems, I wouldn't worry, but if you haven't ordered one yet, you may want to wait for the updated design.

I just called and talked with them and he said that there is no danger to the phone using this battery, but rather damage to the battery due to some reports of it falling off the phone! Some clients don't have a problem, but others have.

They have been working with HTC and are currently producing a new mold that will fit the CDMA phones without the chance of it falling off.

If you email sales@lionbattery.com you can request to be put on the list to be notified when the new battery is ready.....which should be in 3 weeks or so.

    I hope this helps.

    Todd,

The problem relates to the battery not staying on the VX6600 in some instances. Bobjamison was the first to notify us about this problem. The battery has no problems with any of the other models (PDA2k, XDA2s, MDAIII, etc.) But the VX6600 (and related) phones may have a fit problem. We are working on getting a battery that will fit ALL models. They are tentatively scheduled to arrive by mid-March. If you already have the battery on your VX6600 and are having no problems, then the battery fits fine with your unit. If you are having problems, please let us know and we will get the new modified battery sent to you as soon as it is available.

Also, the 3300mAh version will be available later this week. We do have someone with the 2200mAh/VX6600 problem looking into the fit of the 3300mAh and the VX6600. We'll keep you posted on that news front.

Thanks for your questions and support....

Now that's service! When I'm having a problem with a vendor or anyone I do business with, I can generally care less about the problem than being kept in the dark, especially when the company I'm dealing with doesn't even acknowledge there is a problem. Many companies should take a cue from Mark and the crew at Lion!

    Imychajluk,

Thank you for your nice comments. Do you know why we aim to give such service? It is because we are a small outfit and we can't afford a bad reputation. Maybe if we were the size of Toshiba or Dell or HP then we could be more carefree. But we're not. And this is our bread and butter. If our customers are not happy, they will not tell their friends and then we wouldn't be able to get away on vacation once a year.

Really though, our customers are important to us and we strive to show it.

Mark, there were no issues in my unit as far as the battery comming off the phone. Also, I did get the battery working perfectly on the toshiba 805. It was a software I was using that monitored the juice on the battery. It was conflicting with the built in one of the toshiba.

I can relate to your great customer service. When I had my silver slider business I was praised for having great CS. I was even asked if I could give some kind of seminars on "how to". When you look at each person that contacts you as if that person were you. You can't help but to treat them fair and honest.

You will soon be getting bigger in the internet but please don't let it get to you and keep up the great customer service.

Thanks for the comments George. And you hit the nail on the head when you mentioned that I look at every customer as if it were me. How would I want to be treated.

    It's the only way....
