Which head sets work with ROM 3500

Don't vote for Cars, we can do another one for cars.

Assumes - a ROM with Bluetooth stack 3500. No RAM patches and no 3900. XV6600, PPC-660x. You have been running it for at least 3 days.

Good - works at least 3 feet with virtually no static. Works in Pocket or near computer with no static.
Switches to headset before second ring on out going or incoming from complete sleep. Little to no echo. Good volume.
Boomless models may get slight echo or wind noise which is normal.

Poor - Lots of static. Signal degrades in pocket or near computer. Miss calls due to switching slower than 2 rings incoming or out going. Volume too low or erratic.

Please exclude ergonomics. Ear fit, weight, battery life etc. This is personel taste and application.

Sorry I misscounted and can't edit the poll, I wanted to also include Plantronics 3500 and Other. If moderators could fix I'd appreciate it.

Moderators, could you make this thread sticky, at least for a while. Since a vote does not seem to bump it.

I think this poll will be very helpful for folks.

Also please see my note about adding Plantronics 3500.

    Thanks

Sticky, pretty please, since voting does not bump it to the top

Still not sticky? This is a good thread and poll.
    Phone: Treo 700w
    History: XV6600 -> Treo 700w -> XV6800 -> Treo 700w again.

It has a slightly longer boom than many of the BT headsets.

I wish I could vote 2x....the Jabra 250 works terribly and the HBH-300 works great.

I just voted my Logitech Freespeak (as freedom above) as poor though one simple fix would make it "good". I get great distance, close to the reported 30'. The sound is very good. The problem is the headset never recovers from the phone going to sleep. And I did the patch to my PPC6601 with no improvement on BT.

    MajesticNJ,

Yes, I don't undestand why moderators have not at least responded to why they don't want it sticky. I'd volunteer to be a moderator if moderators have too much on their plate.

It needs to have to headsets added too.

Amazon has the Body Glove Blue Sport BT headsets on sale...anyone try them? Would prefer one with caller ID (a la HBH600 or BT800..but have not heard good things about these on teh board)

Good poll but maybe it should allow for multiples. I have 3 different brands which work pretty well.

It's out of my hands. I've asked the moderators for few things on this poll but can't seem to get their attention.

I can't say that it is the most well-organized poll but it is now sticky.

Since you can only vote once in the poll, I polled the 660 as good. It is the headset I am currently using.

I have setup both logitechs, both hbh and the jabra 250. All the bluetooth seemed to work the same on multiple XV6600.

With the bluetooth being equal the logitechs had the best sound quality both talking and hearing overall. The Mobile Freedom's size is much nicer than the Standard logitech. The mobile freedom is hard to put on but once you figure it out it is quite comfortable.

Jabras sounded the best in noisy enviroments for listening because of the ear gel in the canal, but in any enviroment the noise cancellation just wasn't up to par. In a car with all the windows up, people have a hard time understanding me with the jabra. This is probably the most important place for me to use my headset so that is unacceptable.

The hbh 300 was the most comfortable of the bunch but it was quite large. The 660 is the headset of choice for me because of size, sound quality, and the LCD with caller id.

GN Netcom's GN6210 http://www.gnnetcom.com/US/EN/MainMe...ns/GN+6210.htm works well but it's not on the list either. This is the same physical headset as the BT250 with some differenf firmware that allows it to also pair with its charging base for voice calls on your landline phone. I bit the bullet and purchased it about a month ago despite the lack of reviews and for the most part, it's doing very well for me. I'm on the phone all day, both my land line and my XV6600, and it's reasonably seamless to switch between them. I've had problems with the headset and the base losing pairing twice now ... haven't a clue as to why, but it hasn't gotten annoying enough to investigate further.
