Using EVDO (Verizon) in Houston, and the 200K load file, I get

"unstable/too fast a result (3.235s) please choose a larger file"

    There is no larger file.

With evdo you should probably not be using the mobile speed tester. That is more for WAP.

Midtown Manhattan, with the 200k file (VZW EVDO):

    try 1
    297 kbit/sec
    0.891s latency
    5.834s d/l time

    try 2
    274 kbit/sec
    0.756s latency
    6.293s

    try 3
    unstable/too fast a result (-68.264s)

    try 4
    unstable/too fast a result (-112.606s)

Gave up after that, note that these were all within a few seconds of each other.

i still haven't had a chance to test the 6600 on a sprint network. but i tested a treo 650 at different times of the day and always got around 400 kbps or unstable / too fast.

xv6600 at 3 different verizon stores at different times of day.
    averaged between 89 and 128 k. 1xRtt

cingulars EDGE on a 650 never got above 100 k, dropping down to 50 when busy.

That is indeed too slow for 1XRTT. Most guys on other forums post better than 120KBPS. I used to get 140KBPS with the PPC6601.

SF bay does not have EVDO yet. Which is rather odd in my opinion seein' is how that's the epicenter of technology.

you aren't alone buddy. I am having really bad luck. I'm sitting here with two treo 650's, cingular and sprint, and NEITHER can stream a 96kbps shoutcast stream without buffering. I suppose my next move will be to verizon for the ev-do since everyone but me is getting these great speeds.
