MLB Gameday Audio on Sprint: Anyone get it to work?

Following up on a thread I started a while back... it now looks like MobiTV supports gameday audio for all MLB games. There is a list of supported phones, and the 6600/6601 isn't on it. Anyone try anyway? I would but I've got Verizon and it doesn't look like we are supported yet either.

Yes it will work . . . the problem right now is that the program that makes it work for the PPC seems to be having some issues with the 6600

I have gotten it to work a couple of times, but unfortunately no regularity.

What you need is MTR or mobile transistor radio. This program does all the necessary communications with the the mlb gameday server using java. You also need to download java on your phone.

    Check out www.ivanx.com/mtr

OK, I finally figured out this program for my phone. If anyone needs MTR or is having similar problems, just pm me and I can send the files to you and let you know what I do to connect to mlb gameday audio.

    mlb gameday audio

Does anyone on this forum listen to mlb games with their 660x? I am using the program MTR written by ivanx on my sprint PPC-6600 and can only get it to work by starting the connection with my phone on the cradle (using my computers network connection instead of the sprint connection.) I was wondering if XV6600 users have the same issue or if it is only sprint.

Well it looks like ivan just put out the latest version (1.2) at http://www.ivanx.com/mtr. He emailed me and said that he will be putting a workaround to the sprint problem in his next release.

So what exactly does this MTR thing do?

We can't use MobiTV on the 6600,right? Does this allow us to do that or what exactly?

The mtr_120.zip file on his site is no good. Can someone put a valid one up here?

    Thanks.

Like the website says, it allows you to use either MLB gameday audio or the video. Obviously you will need more than 1x for the video (evdo or 802.11)

I just downloaded the new version (mtr_120.zip) and it works fine for me. I just finished listening to Ron Santo cry about the Cubs losing again

    What problems are you having?

I wanted to mention that MTR now has its own discussion forum, at http://www.ivanx.com/mtr/forum (also linked from the MTR home page). I'll continue to check here, but please come by if you need help, have questions or suggestions, or just want to discuss MTR and/or baseball.

    Thanks,
    Ivan.
