Any WAV file can be a ring tone for this device. You can use a free program like dbPowerAmp to convert mp3s to WAV files.

all ringers have to be in windows/rings. Or you can use the start->settings->system tab->add ringtones to copy them there.

I have posted two great apps for making loud ringtones and zipped several I have created over at TC:

Please feel free to use any of the ringtones I created or posted.

    I hope this helps.

    Voice Ringers

    Hobbes,
I put your vocie ringers ("you've got mail") in windows/rings but I can't assign it as my voice mail notification ringer. I go to Start/Settings/Sounds&Notifications and try to change my voicemail ringer and I can't seem to find the "you'vegotmail" ringer there. Help please

Easy....Ringtones need to go into the Windows/Ringers Folder.

System sounds needs to go into the Windows folder.

I believe system sounds needs to be WAV files only.

Thanks! So If i can find a way to convert your files to wav format, I can just dump them in the windows folder? Will they show up in the list of sounds I can use for voicemail notification, text message etc?

sorry to bother you again but I dumped some of the wave file in the windows folder but when I try to change the notification/ringer in the sounds&notifications, I still can't see the files. In the drop down menu for Messaging: New emai message, I have:

Alarm 1, Alarm 2, Alarm 3, Default, notify etc but none of your files.

    free wav ringtones????

Has anyone found a place that has good free popular music ringtones in wav format for our phones? I did a search and didn't find too much. BTW I love the goulet ringtones in the download section.

spr - what you might want to consider is to download an audio editing app like GoldWave (one of my alltime favorite audio apps), rip an .mp3 of your favorites from your CD (or download the .mp3 if available), and extract the portion of the song you'd like to use as a ringtone. GoldWave will export the sound into .wma or .wav formats - drop it into the /rings folder under Windows on your PPC, go to start/settings/Phone, and under the dropdown for "Ring Type", you should see your new ringtone listed.

My personal favorite of the moment: "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic" (yes, I own the CD) - cheerful, makes me not mind hearing the phone ring.
