    BlackBerry Connect getting closer!

I know they have been saying its coming for over a year now, but this is good news for those of us (read, "me") who need a blackberry client so they can drop the blackberry device we carry around in addition to the PPC:

I suppose I don't worry about it since I use Exchange ActiveSync now. It seems a lot of people either don't use that or can't use it which surprises me since it works rather well.

I suppose there are those who aren't running Exchange Server 2003... I for one would love to see our Blackberry Enterprise Server go the way of the dodo.

I work for a large organization who is regulated by the feds that has Exchange Server 2003 but has only deployed BES due to security reasons (according to what they tell us). We can only access the network remotely through a Contivity VPN client, so BB is the only "easy" way for me to upgrade from my handheld BB device to doing everything on the PPC.

Admittedly, I have scoured the net looking for a leaked client, but no success other than the TMobile German one (2.0) and the extracted version 1.2 from the O2 cabs. Unfortunately, these are for GPRS networks and I haven't heard of anyone outside or Europe getting them to work. So, we wait...

Ok I dont know alot about Blackberry but have friends with them. Would that mean a software upgrade, or we have to get a new phone?
