Weather app that ISNT a today plugin?

I'm in the boat where minimal today plugins is a better way to run your system. So I've tried many weather apps, the best one I could find that I could disable the today plugin and still have functionality was WeatherPanel.

Any other recommendations? I'm looking for something I can start from "Programs" (probably adding a link to menu) that will show me:
    a) Current forecast in detail
    b) 3-5 day look ahead
    c) Precipatation maps, radar etc.

Then I would have to rely on PIE, or Netfront, or some other browser that just doesnt do the job. Not to mention the repeated links asking me to upgrade etc. I'd rather have an app that already has icons etc so it only needs to download the data.

I have used it for over year now on my Treo 600 and now on my PPC-6600

You could use an rss reader. I've been using this one. And just connect to an rss feed for weather as well.

Express looks cool but at $7 a month its a bit out of my price range.

    "just doesnt do the job"?

Works fine for me. No extra links/popups/etc... I set it up as directed, as a mobile favorite that syncs from the PC, so I have a copy from my PC within the last few hours of my last sync, in case I'm not getting a data connection (which gives me an up-to-date forecast). To each thier own, I suppose...

Yea, I'm looking at it now. I just have to get out of my office so I can download it. Funny thing...wasnt this bundled in the default ROM? I tailored my config.txt and deleted ExpressinROM cab last night after an accidental hard reset.

I dunno... I used to have it feed as an AvantGo channel, but since I discovered RSS, I don't use AvantGo anymore.

    "Worldmate"

It lacks radar maps but does most everything else.

I just bought ADBWeather Plus 3.11 and use it as a stand-alone (non Today Screen) application.

    It works great.

    Check it out here ...
