    Incomming Call Baloon - doesnt show name

    whenever i get an incomming call the baloon doesnt show the contact name.
    is there something that i am missing?

    Does it show anything other than a blank baloon or it just shows the name? Mine was showing compleatly blank but a soft reset fixed that. If it is showing the number and not the name just add that person to your contact list. FYI if you have the contact set up with 1(xxx)xxx-xxxx or *67/*82 in front of the nubmer you will have to add a second contact without the 1 or the * code for it to show the name.

    its funny that you should meantion that it has the 1 prefix because almost all of my numbers so (outlook attatched it automatically)
    everything was always fine on my i700 and VC reads the contact name just fine.
    very odd, i'll try the removing the +1 prefix

    I had the same problem, but I am using Goodlink for contacts. Apparently the caller ID thing can only resolve names to the built in contact manager and not the third party one I am using.

    I went ahead and set up to sync the built in contacts as well and now everything works.

    Probably not your issue, but it may be helpful.
