    Angry What no warranty!!!

I was told by a sprint customer service rep that moisture has voided my warranty on my wife’s phone, she has a Sanyo 5500. The rep told me if she used her phone in the fog or rain, it was not covered under the warranty. The phone has not been in any water or been wet, but the technician says it has. I have the ppc 6600 phone and I am concerned that if it would get any condensation at all it would void the warranty too.

    So Be aware!!!

Do not go out in the fog!!!! I think it is BS just another way of not honoring the manufacture warranty

Umm, duh. Thats why you NEVER use a warranty to fall back on. Always buy insurance on it either through lock-line or through who you bought the phone from. Anyone who expects the warranty to cover anything is on crack sorry...

You are exactly right, I guess I was naive in thinking a corporation or manufacturer would stand behind their product. I do have the insurance on the phone so I can get it replaced, but I think I will protest their opinion because the moisture strip on the phone has not changed at all only on the battery, it is slightly smudged. The Sprint store manager agreed with me that it had no water damage but the warranty is voided because the moisture strip on the battery is slightly pink or smudged. He told me that any moisture will void the warranty on a phone such as a cold environment to a warm environment, fog, or mist in a bathroom from a shower. I carry my ppc 6600 in my pocket so this summer when it gets hot outside I may inadvertently void my warranty.

When I went into the Sprint store I recorded the conversation with the sales associate on my ppc6600 (GREAT PHONE) but the manager would not talk with me unless I stopped recording him, he told me I would be escorted out of the store unless I stopped recording our conversation. I am amazed that when I call Sprint on the phone they record me and probably the store has video cams recording me also.

Make sure you have insurance on your ppc 6600 Phone so this will not happen to you
