BT 3900B stack and Radio Version HA01_151...No More Memory Error

After installing the new 1.36 ROM update yesterday for my XV6600 cam version the HA01_151 radio and 1.36 extended ROM followed by the 2.03 CE update, and doing a clean install of all my apps, I can report that I have installed the bluetooth 3900B and the A2DP patch and can report that 3900B no longer causes a memory error when trying to turn on and off the bluetooth radio along with the cellular radio on. 3900B works static free and turns on and wakes up quickly.

On another note, I'll have a hack posted to enable standard audio over bluetooth within a few days, as soon as I get the final file I need from a guy on XDA-developers.com

EDIT: I just noticed that I now have a corrupted bubble at the top of the screen. It displays the squares that have previously been talked about in this forum.

RE-EDIT: This appears to be an isolated incident. I performed a soft reset and the problem fixed itself. It appears it was a simple problem loading PocketPlus or Agile Messenger's today plugin or Voice Command into DLL memory. So the bluetooth patches are not the culprit

    Radio 151 update

Do you know if the Audiovox update just released will work for a Sprint branded 6600? I just want the radio upgrade to 151. I know that this has a ext.rom upgrade to 116. Not sure if this update will mess up my ext. Rom. Thanks.

    Nope

Nevermind, Just tried to update it and it says that it is not intended for my device. I guess I need to search to find out how to update just the radio. I dare not ask a question that has already been answered. ;o)

well Ehud has the radio on his site...you could check that, and if it doesnt work I assume you can always reload the update for the PPC.

Edit: I forgot to add...do this at your own risk. You run the risk of rendering the phone portion of your PDA useless

I just installed the 2.03 rom and I downloaded the _151 radio stack, but I have no way of getting it onto my PPC6600. Im searching vigorously for the instructions. Come someone point me in the right direction?

Try putting the radio .nbf file in the same directory as the 2.03 rom installer

try running the 1.36 update and then 2.03 on top of that, maybe you'll have better results.

I have already updated to ROM 2.03. Can I still apply the patch to get the extended rom of 1.36 and BT3900B?

I just hung up with Audiovox Tech Support and those guys are CLUELESS!!!!

I just finished the HA01_151 radio ugrade and no memory problems with the BT3500C already installed. But once I upgraded to 3900B I initially got the memory error until I did the flight mode/reset/BT-on/phone-on and it is now working. I had the same issue with my old _140 radio stack.

I have yet to test my new config with my BT devices. I'll report back if I notice significant changes.

On a positive note, after the update, I now a "1X" box displayed (soon to change to EV - I hope - as Sprint turns it on) and I was previously having data connection issues that usually required a soft reset 50% of the time. I have not had to do so yet!

Abandoned Sprint over failure to update PPC6600. Now with Cingular using the 8525 at HSDPA speeds!

You can update the HA01_151 radio by simply placing the radio_.nbf file into the directory of the loader without the other ROM nbf files. This will make the loader only update the radio and leave the other ROMs in existing state.

    Worked great for me.

Will this update the Bluetooth to 3900B also?

Do you still have to Hard Reset afterwards and reload everything?

    rossarmstrong,
Where did you get the ExtRom 1.36.116 WWE for your Sprint 6600? I have the 2.03 rom, the HA01_140 Radio Stack and PRL 2007. I need to update to Radio HA01_151 wich I just downloaded, but I cant see where the new extRom 1.36.116 WWE image is. I know that there is one for the Verizon phones, but I tried that and I get "Not intended for your device" when I try the update. Is there a ExtRom 1.36.116WWE specifically for the Sprint PPC6600? Or did you just modify the Verizon one to work on your decive? Thanks

Take your 2.03 upgrade procedure and replace the 2.03 rom with the 1.36 rom.

    Thanks for the reply,
The only 1.36 rom that I see is the one that comes bundled with the verizon _151 radio update. Is there a Seperate 1.36 ExtRom image?

I wouldnt have posted this question unless I searched vigorously first. Hence my comment above about asking a question that has already been answered. My search results for 1.36.116 ExtRom image just brings me right back to this post. Im getting ready to do the _151 radio stack upgrade and the ExtRom file 1.36.116 is all I have left to do. Im having a hard time finding this file by itself. I only see it as integrated in the Verizon _151 Radio stack upgrade which I already know will not work on my Sprint 6600. I was just trying to find out if this file even exists as a stand-alone upgrade or do I have to hack the Verizon _151 radio stack upgrade to get at this file. I already have the radio updater program from sprintpcsinfo. I just need the Rom now.
    Thanks anyway

I said "search for WHY NOT" not for "WHERE". Your vigorous search apparently didn't find:
