Sandisk 2 GB SD card issue

This is my second faulty Sandisk 2 GB SD card. I had to return the first one for similar issues. Basically, I can't seem to copy more than 1 GB of data on my brand new 2 GB SD card.

Right now, I have about 400MB of data on the card. I tried to copy a 700MB .avi file on it, but it is giving me the following error message, "Cannot copy. The drive cannot find the sector requested." I have tried it numerous times, but same error message.

I am using a Sandisk 6-in-1 PC Card Adaptor to place the SD card in it so that I can insert it into the PCMCIA slot on my laptop. There is nothing wrong with the Adaptor as I have used it numerous times to copy data to my Sandisk 1 GB SD card.

    Any solutions?

    Thanks.

I assume you have already tried reformating it and when you did you selected FAT32 and not FAT right?

Yes. That is correct. I am going to return this one. I guess I will wait for the 4 GB SD card instead.

I have a Sandisk 2GB card in my 6600 and have had since the 2 GB first came out.

If I try to copy large files through a card reader, I get the same type errors as you. If I copy data to the card while the card is in the phone through the cradle, it works fine. The phone has NO issues with it no matter HOW I get it to the card.

I have a 1GB SanDisk and I keep loosing data. I finally gave up and got a 2GB card from Patriot. I'm keeping my fingers crossed but it seems much more stable than the Sandisk.

Monitoring these boards, it seems Sandisk has the most amount of problems no matter what the size, so I think I am done with them too.

I saw that on ebay today as well. Have it on my "Watch this item" list, Sent the seller a question about compatibility with an Audiovox XV6600.

No reply as of yet. Sent question this morning...

If he replies, I'll post it here.

Are you getting one? I spoke to Audiovox, who supposedly connected me to an HTC rep who said that the 6600 would only use card speeds of 66x, but that other, faster cards should be backward compatible. He also said that he wasn't sure if the 6600 would handle a 4 GB card. (In fairness, he didn't know it would handle a 2 GB card either, and I've BEEN using one for about 4 months until it DIED!!!)

If you get one, post the results here! I'll get one right afterwards!

Had a lot of problems (3 changes with SanDisk 512MB card). I now have a 1GB 1 month old cheap PNY(?) card and it works fine.

Yeah, my 1 GB Sandisk card I've had for over a year works fine too. And it's a SANDISK! What's the deal with the 2GB cards????

Are these 2GB problems on Ultras or the regular Sandisks? I've had my 2GB regular for a long time now with no troubles (knock on wood). My 1GB Ultra Sandisk is also doing fine.
