    PPC 6600 or PPC 6700?

S'up. Anybody here like their PPC 6600 more than the PPC 6700, and if u do, could u explain why? I'm trying to decide between the two. Thanks.

Well the ppc 6700 does everything the 6600 does and more. So I do not see what you would be contimplating.

Contimplating? Well, Screen size, for one. Price. I can get a brand new 6600 for $450. EV-DO. The lady at sprint said that there will be an upgrade for 6600 users. I'm not sure about it, but she seem like she knew what she was talking about. I would have to pay 650 for the 6700. Exactly what more does the 6700 do over the 6600?

I have both, I prefer the screen size of the 6600. I went back to the 6600 after 4 days with the 6700.

WiFi was nice, not neccessary though. The 6600 was lighter because of the length, if felt lighter and more secure. Both have HORRIBLE speakerphones, complete **** if you ask me, but the 6600's was still better.

If you can wait why wait for the HTC Universal. If you are the system admin type it would be a perfect fit.

I'm perfectly happy with my PPC-6601. As a business customer, I bought that the first day it was available.

I really deliberated getting the 6700 but couldn't justify it (at least for now). Why?

    1. Not that much different in form factor.

    2. A lot of the mainstream applications I use are not yet ported to WM5 (albiet several are in beta). Just didn't want to have to start off from scratch.

    3. A lot of nice features in WM5 but not enough for me to "bag" my 6601 and spend another $650 or so.

    4. I don't have a pressing need for EVDO (I don't use IE that much and the bandwidth I have is fine for my e-mail, stock quotes, weather, etc.)

All in all, I'll wait. There will be a few more WM5 phones coming out by the end of the year from Sprint. Perhaps even one with VGA.

Would you consider it if you only had to be out of pocket $200.00? Say if you sold your 6600 for $450.00 or so? I just did that cause I want EVDO and cause it helps me do my job. But I must admit, the more I read the more I think people like the 6600. Then again, this is a 6600 board.

Well if you would have said you can get the 6600 for $450 and pay full price for the 6700 that is a different story, but your question didnt say you could get the 6600 for $200 less. What you should have said was, is the 6700 worth paying $200 more then the 6600. Now this all depends on your needs.
To me personally, the one major player in the 6700 is it being ev-do capable. I do alot of streaming and surfing the web and speed is key. For $200, I would do it because of my use.
If they come out with an ev-do update for the 6600 then I do not see a reason to spend the extra money. The problem is nobody knows for sure if this update is coming. I am reading something different every single day.
Bottom line. The 6600 with ev-do is a keeper. The 6600 with no ev-do, might be looking at a 6700 myself.

To be honest, out of pocket expense was on the list but not that high on the list. Heck, I don't pay for this stuff. While one never knows, with all the 660x's on e-bay, getting $450 for it might be a stretch. I'm just more enamored with some of the newer devices Sprint will offer before year-end and wanting to wait until the "bugs" are worked out (if they really ever are) of the mainstream WM5 applications.

It's not that I like my 6601 more than the 6700. Heck, if I had any other phone in Sprint's current lineup, I'd change in a heart beat. It is just that the 6700 doesn't bring that much more to my "party" than what I have today.

Eric, u said u didn't see what i was contilplating between the two...i was just explaning why i was. price wasn't the only issue...screen, pic/vid mail, etc. if the 6700 was that much better than the 6600, then price would'nt be an issue for me. aparently, it seems that all the 6700 offers over the 6600 is WM 5 and EV-DO.(EV-DO is great, but the 6600 may be getting it too). I like pic mail. That's fun feature to me. Why sprint would'nt include that in a phone so powerful and with a 1.3 meg pixel camera is beyond me. Yes, i know it's a buisness phone but they should have made it like the 6601. That would of made more sense.

For me, its the screen size. If they had one with a display like the psp I'd get that.

I'm an avid gamer and like the larger screen on the 6600. If they'd included a VGA screen on the 6700 I'd be tempted.

I do like the keyboard on the 6700.

Other consideration is WM2005 vs 2003 - software compatability.

And EVDO - 6700 will have it out of the box, we're still waiting for an EVDO update for the 6600.
