    Dead SD card

I have an SD card that has completely died it seems. A Mac won't mount it, the PPC-6600 gets all weird when I put it in.

Short of returning it, do you know of any way or reinitializing it?

I had this happen when formatting mine in the PPC. I put it into my direct usb reader on my PC, formatted it again and it worked fine.

Is it fraud if you buy if from the same place you got it from, I call it proactive returns

I had this same issue recently where various readers for my laptop and PC could not read SD cards propoerly. Ultimately (just as mentioned by boe) I ended up using the Bonsai USB jump drive reader for everything. It was the only reliable one. To say that I was supprised to find that my brand new sony's reader would not work reliably would be an understatement. I think there is clearly an industry compatibility issue going on here...

Well its not like its a loss for the company, they just find a new way to use it. plus its like saying if donald trump dropped a penny and a hobo picks it up is stealing

i wonder how much is the ACTUAL cost of manufacturing one of those cards?

Don't know, but I'm tired of flushing time and money on memory cards.

Worse part is, I had MOST of my programs and all of my Sprite Backups on that card!!!

Now I have to start over on a 1 GB card I had until I find another 2 GB card I can trust!!
