    Question Help!Phone LCD broke...just got replacement phone>

and I don't know how to go about downloading the MS sync "fullsystem backup/restore" to the new phone?????

With my LCD is broke , can I sync the broken 6600 to my PC?

Will "full system back up/restore" restore programs that I have put on the old XV like MSVC, and spb pocket plus , ect. Will "full system back up/restore" redownload the Audiovox upgrade /patch?

Also to transfer everything to my new XV, can I access the sync login info from the PC since the LCD s broke and I don't remember that info?

    Can anyone help please?

    Fontucky!

This is not for the faint of heart.

    Put the phone in bootloader.
Use D2S (or S2D, I forget) to write ALL of memory to the SD card. This will include the bootloader, the three ROMs, and all your settings.

Then use the other one (S2D, D2S) to restore all those to your new phone.

What I would do... is on the NEW phone, do the process of "saving it all" so that you can keep track of what you need to press without looking at the screen.

Then repeat the process on the OLD phone thereby saving everything to the SD card (use a 128 or 256MB card).

Then restore it on the NEW phone.

    Ehud

Thank you for replying pal!!! I humbly appreciate it!

Please be patient with me cuz I'm uhhhhh uninformed!

Put the phone in bootloader. First....what is bootloader?

Use D2S (or S2D, I forget) to write ALL of memory to the SD card. This will include the bootloader, the three ROMs, and all your settings. Second what is D2S or S2D

So are you saying "save everything to a SD card on the old phone , then put the SD card in the new phone and restore?" I'm just don't understand completely???

Well the new phones start up screen reads

    AA3.301
    HA 0151
    D 1.36.00 wwe

While the the old one has

    AA3.301
    HA 0140
    D 1.35.00 wwe

Maybe I should keep this setup and just redownload my software???

Then just sync one way to from computer to handheld for contacts, notes and ect?????????

just use sprite backup to backup the device but you may have issues since your old phone is running an older rom than your newer phone

p.s. what the hell is Fontucky?

Ontario/San Bernadino, Ca. area. Used to be the armpit of Cali......but over the years it has cleaned up real nice.

I think I'm just going to sync the basics from my computer to handheld and then re install all my programs again. Just want to make this as trouble free as possible.
