Slow sprint connection on data side

I am receiving 230k but I highly doubt that is accurate because I can go to www.yahoo.com and it take about 20 seconds to load the page.

Where does this post go completely wrong?
There is no information stating exactly what you are experiencing. You don't mention what you have running on the pda that might be a culprit. You don't state what speed you are getting to be considered slow. Give more details. I do caution you to search before asking questions. Read the stickies at the top and you will find lots of info and some site rules.

I find that I get faster internet speeds when I'm drinking.
iPhone 3G (sorry Sprint, I have been to the mountain top!) <-- Sprint Mogul PPC 6800 (not enough memory) <-- PPC 6700 (loaner from sprint) <-- PPC 6600 (no EVDO) <-- G1000 (no SMS) Cardo Scala-500 BT

With any PDA, maximum download speed and the speed with which webpages are downloaded and rendered are two very different things.
Without EVDO, tests for my PPC-6601 using dslreports are typically in the 110 to high 130's. However, web speeds using Pocket Internet Explorer rarely go much higher than the 30 to 40k, which I suspect is caused by the inability of PIE to handle anything faster. Speeds also vary by website, network congestion, and signal strength.
When downloading files, typical speeds are 110 to 120k.
Some tips for speeding up PIE are to clear the cache, delete unwanted cookies, and uncheck View>Show images. My experience has been that some cookies not only slow things down, but will freeze PIE.
