    Audiovox updates gone

I just went to do my regular check to see if there are any new updates posted on the Audiovox site and noticed that they no longer list any updates for any PPC/PDA.
    Interesting.

That doesn't sound like a 'good' sign.

Intersting that even on the UTStarcom site, Sprint isn't listed as one of the carriers.

not only that, it looks as if they removed all of the accessories (charger etc.) for the 6600 from the audiovox site as well.

I imagine that UT starcom will begin to have that stuff available on their page as they prepare to introduce more phone in the US under their own branding.
PPC-6700, Treo 700wx, Samsung IP-i830w, Motorola i580, LG Fusic. Mix well, add accessories, consume.

    Nope.
It actually does list the 6601 and Sprint under the PPC6601KIT on another page.
But they're all still listing the old 1.36ROM.

probably moving all of that stuff to UTstarcom.

The only other explanation is they are preparing to put up new files.

Can someone shed light for us ignorant ones? Did UTStarcom buy out Audiovox?

EDIT: Nevermind...I just saw the info on the sale on Audiovox's web site.

Yes, Audiovox has a message on their website that their communications division was sold.

I'd like to get another desktop cradle... are there other sources now that Audiovox is gone? I don't like the Boxwave charger because it doesn't have a slot for charging a spare battery (which is the reason I want a charger for work).

    Try gsm-store on ebay:

OEM cradle and charger for $9.95. I bought a cradle, charger and battery from them for just under $20, plus shipping. Hard to beat for an otherwise hard to find item.
