Please search the site. The search button is your friend. I am not sure where you heard there was a download available, but there is not.

Of course, like all the previous working WM5 ROMs, this one is only for the Blue Angel- a mostly European GSM variant of the PPC6600.
    Worthless for a CDMA phone.
    Sorry.

If you have a link that discusses the availability of a "wm5" "rom" for your HTC Harrier, why are you asking for that link here? Pointing us to the entry page for the XDA forums doesn't help narrow this down.

There are several people pooling their efforts to create a working WM5 ROM for the 6600, but last I'd heard they were still working on it. Do you have a substantive source for the existance of this download?

    I'm now confused too.

It exists out on that developers forun and elsewhere but people have to have more courage than I to install in. Instruction sound like a nightmare and I am not sure what the benefits might be except that half of my software probably would no longer work.

Sorry, I clicked before proof reading. Here is the thread:

    http://forum.xda-developers.com/view...3ca9a9db83190a

I am surprised nobody on this forum has not yet tried this, but I guess the hard core who would try this have moved on... I note that the 6700 forum usually has 3-4 times the number of people logged on.

Cheers and I am never giving up my 6600.

PS & BTW, there was a very interesting thread out on the 6700 forum about unlocking your ROM on the 6700. Such knowledge would allow you to customize what loads at boot and give you a lot more flexibility with the machine:

    Extended ROM Unlocker is HERE!!!

I asked the question if it could be used with a 6600, but none of the 6700 owners has relied to my question yet.

People on this forum have tried those roms and as the wiki on xdadevs says in huge text, that rom does not work on the cdma version of the 6600.

As far as I know, there is not a working cdma wm 5 rom. I was one of the guys trying to get it to work and due to real life stuff I have not had time to work on it nor do I forsee free time for quite some time.

There has been working programs for a while now that will allow you to "roll your own" 6600 rom. The one I've been using is mamaichs imgs tools available at xdadevs.

Well on the 6600 the ext rom can be unlocked. I have done it so I could make some bt updates install on a hard reset.

I have looked at some of the wm5 rom for a 6700 and the wm5 rom for the BA, I don't understand as both roms have a gsm section. I can see the ba having a gsm section, but why does a CDMA 6700 have a gsm section in the rom?

that's a good question, davepmer, one that we have not found the answer to. we thought, a while ago, that all we would need to get the cdma 6600 to work with wm 5 was to swap out the cdma files but apparently we were wrong.

I wonder if one could load WM5 on a SD card similar to the way I did for my Motorola MPX200?

Surely they wouldn't have called the 6700's cdma files gsm would they? If so then we would need to look at the gsm secton of the 6700 rom.

I don't understand how one loads an os on to a sd card so I'm not sure if it would work...btw doesn't the mpx run the smartphone version of the os as oppossed to the full mobile version like the 6600?
