I got a postcard saying I have to run an upgrade by February 15th. Anyone know what this upgrade is all about? Anyone have any problems with this upgrade?

    Thanks,

same thing as the previous 2.07 rom but with an updated radio since VZW is turning on RevA. You won't see RevA speeds, however

Be sure and read through the recent threads on upgrading so can see how to REALLY restart the upgrade if it hangs or disconnects. Your blood pressure will thank you. The restart instructions on Verizon's site failed when I tried them.

I started one of the discussion threads, which I think has dropped to the second page of the forum by now. I think the other thread is still on the front page.

Long story short: my replacement phone arrived pre-upgraded, and overall it's been working fine.

Following the instructions directly doesn't always work- read the other threads on this

Another long story short: My replacement phone didn't arrive pre-upgraded and I haven't redone it yet...

    Upgrade went flawlessly for me.

My device was due for a flush-and-reinstall-from-scratch anyway. It's running great now.

Upgrade went fine...I'll let you know if there are any perceptible differences. I hear this is for EVDO RevA which will boost speeds. But now until Feb 14th.

    We'll see

Verizon sent a reminder text message with instructions to visit verizonwireless.com/bbadeviceupdate to upgrade. That link should work.

yeah, i did the upgrade. make sure you read the other posts on it before you do it (as said above). i was P!$$ED when things didn't go as planned. and the phone number they give you is worthless. it honestly felt like a scam.

problem: my balloon icon works as normal, but when i click on it to see if i have a txt or voicemail, i get a box of weird scripts (like the phone is puking squares). really annoying! it doesn't seem to be running as smoothly either.

but i do like the new windows media edition they put on there. it's much more user friendly and looks better. i tried streaming the tv from the website and it worked remarkably well. i was impressed...now we'll just have to see how much my bill went up this month for using all that data.

    cheers!
