Do we need to update our 6600's for the time change?

I've been getting sooooooo many updates. One for windowsXP, one for MS Outlook calendar on my PC, one for my Verizon wireless PC monitor software on the PC, and I believe one for 6600. Just want to make sure we need to do this??????
I was reading on the 6700 forum that the new sync program was not as good as the old one and was maybe screwing things up in the operating software?????
Anyone hear do this update yet????

I used the cab install on my 6600. I don't have AC 4.5 and don't want it either.

Hey Cougargt, is it the cab labeled WSPPC2003.cab? If not ....you wouldn't have a link to the right cab would you?

    No working

I followed the instructions from Microsoft Mobile (installed AS 4.5 and ran WM patch). It didn't work. If I go into my phones settings and manually change the time it will roll itself back after a minute.

The cab I got was "WM2k23DST_unsigned.cab". I believe it was on the d/l page on microsoft. It was the one you use if you don't sync to a computer. I just copied it to my card and ran it. This morning I had a notice window that stated the clock was adjusted for DST.

I downloaded the CAB file and installed it. Although I sync with my desktop it doesn't seem to be causing a conflict. I did have to go into the phone and manually set the time, but atleast now it doesn't roll itself back. I'm just happy to finally have the right time.

    Unhappy

I can't get my calendar to update with new DST. I tried loading ActiveSync 4.5. No luck. The Outlook calendar on my computer is correct. My 6600woc are all 1 hour off. This sucks...
The Kyocera 7135 was great. The XV6600 was even better. So far the 8525 is pretty damn cool...
But I wish for the features of an 8525 with a 3.5" screen, that would be awesome.

I loaded the ActiveSync 4.5 and the MS DST patch again and this time it worked!

I have 4.5 and the update and they work. By contrast, the latest Avantgo only syncs manually.

I patched my phone yesterday. Even though my XP SP2 desktop had the time correct time, plugging my 6600 into the cradle would cause my 6600 to roll back one our every time.

Per Microsoft's instructions I upgraded to ActiveSync 4.5 from 4.3 Beta. That alone didn't fix the problem.

As the guys said there is also an actual patch required to install on your 6600.

Since some people are having trouble with the CAB file, I've attached the version you install from your PC.

Installed it, synced, and clock was fixed on my 6600.
    Attached Files
PPC-6600: 1.36.00 WWE (ExtROM 1.36.124), HA01_140, HQBT Update. Gomadic Powered Dash Mount w/ GPS Antenna. 4GB SD. XCPUScalar OC'ed 530MHz. TomTom GPS.

    Finally got DST!!!!!!!!!

Here's the Microsoft link for Windows Mobile 2003 which is the only thing that worked for me.

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

(download to 6600 then click on it to run it from there, turn 6600 off then on, sync, voila)
