    replacing the internal mic myself

    would it be too difficult? im thinking of ordering the mic and doing the repair myself...any advice from peeps who have dissasembled there ppc? was thinking of oredering the mic from here...thanks

    havent done a 6600, but I done a couple others phone. Once you get to the mic it takes about 20 seconds, really easy if you have used a soldering iron before

    yes i have used a soldering iron...not on a device as small as my ppc though...but i think ill be alright...is there a how to or walkthrough for dissasembling my ppc somewhere? thanks!

    The 6600 mike is a plug in, not soldered. To replace you would only have to pull the back, first pull the cover to open the headset jack, then there are the 2 side screws and then 4 screws under the battery (one under a small sticker). All screws are #6 torx. The mike should be easy to see, it is down near the bottom of the phone, on the opposite side as the small battery.

    The back of the case has small clips inside, after the screws are out the clips will release if you just push your finger nail in between the crack where the back and front peices meet and slide your finger around the crack.
