Wallpaper Size that works for normal & landscape view ???
I hate to post this up but after playing around with some background images I'm running into a slight problem.
hamsup1o, you answered my question in a prevoius post, and I think you removed the reply which contained my answer. Sorry about that.
I have a few pictures i'm wanting to use for background 240x320. When i slide the keyboard out and switch to landscape mode, my picture is not filling the screen in width wise. I believe you stated a different size which I did not write down and I should have.
Could you please repost a reply for this. I'm sure it will help others as well when creating background images until a software devoper comes up with a theme creator that will automatically do the settings for us.
What I would really like to see is a program come out that will use one image for the normal view, and when you switch to landscape mode with keyboard open, that it allows you use a different image. Then again, thats probably asking for to much

Wallpaper Size
The wallpaper needs to be 320 X 294. I use Photoshop and put the pic up in the left top corner. Then I use Thememaker Pro and create my own customized theme.

Why 294? The resolution of the screen is 240 x 320.

Thanks for the reply Dangeruss. Thats what I needed bud.Why 294? The resolution of the screen is 240 x 320.
I'm not sure exactly why, but I know that when I open the keyboard and the screen switches to landscape mode the 240x320 will not work. It cuts off on each side and will not look right.
Maybe someone more technical can explain this to you.

It's a tutorial on how to make extended themes that work both with portrait and landscape. It says that the size is for future versions of pocket pc.
When I used this size in Photoshop, it worked out. I've made several car wallpapers and they turned out great!Last edited by Dangeruss; 02-13-2006 at 01:54 AM.

Theme Generator 2 ????
Jay does this work for windows mobile 5.0 ???i've been using theme generator v2, but for some reason the landscape view always is cut off by the bar at the bottom...
I've been looking for something to make themes with. So far I only know of Kamware in the process of making their program compatible with 5.0
Aside from the problem you mentioned about the pic being cut off by the lower bar. Does it seem to work ok for the landscape modes and standard views ??

294 is the size of the "desktop" w/o the top and bottom bars.

Sounds Great
Keep me posted on this. I notice when I switch to landscape mode, it also chops off quite a bit of the bottom part of the picture as well.yeah the program is great, i love how simple it is, but i just cant get the picture in landscape to fit just right, i'll play with it a little more im sure i'll get it eventually
Again my idea for those Smart Programmers out there is....
What I would really like to see is a program come out that will use one image for the normal view, and when you switch to landscape mode with keyboard open, that it allows you use a different image or a modified image for the landscape so that it won't be distorted. Then again, thats probably asking for to much

I don't think there is any way around that as the pic starts from the upper left hand corner...so for portrait it will take 240x268 and landscape is 320x188.

How do I adjust the canvas size in Photoshop CS? I have an image I want to use as my background but when I go to Photoshop CS -> Image -> Image Size and adjust it for 320 x 294, I enter 320 for width and 294 for height, it auto changes 320 to 290. This is all in pixels BTW, any help appreciated!

OK, I have a pic sized to be my wallpaper. What format does it need to be in, and what folder do I copy it to so it will show up as an option in my Today Screen options?
From "Scrubs" - I'm convinced if you removed all the porn from the internet the only site left would be www.bringbackporn.org.
-
03-09-2006 05:36 PM #15In that case, couldn't you use 320x268 (the largest of the two dimensions) and possibly avoid cutting off a chunk of the picture in landscape mode?

My question is, do people really spend a lot of time viewing the Today screen in landscape mode? The only time I ever go into landscape mode is to use the keyboard, or to look at large graphics such as Virtual Earth/Google Maps or web pages, in which case you cannot see the background. The information on my Today screen is best viewed in portrait mode.
So, who cares what the pic looks like in landscape?
